Hello,
I'm a newbie and also Canadian living in Bellevue area, and because of both of those factors I am unsure what route to take now while trying to shop for my medical provider for my pregnancy. I'm TTC right now, but want to meet and find my person early so I won't have to worry about it when I'm already a few weeks in and will simply want to know who I'm working with. I have a family practitioner at Evergreen, but she said she doesn't do the whole pregnancy route and recommends I look for someone specific. I am just looking to have a regular delivery situation, not worried about going fully natural, we'll see as things go.
Any recommendations either at Evergreen, Overlake or GroupHealth? I don't know if it matters much but our provider now is Premera, then will be GroupHealth in december.
Thanks!
Re: OB/GYN vs CNM in the Bellevue/Redmond area?
My OB/GYN is Dr. Mary Beth Wittman at Eastside OB-GYN there at Evergreen I had a wonderful experience with her and she took me all the way through delivery. She is very personable and takes the time to answer any questions you have and I never felt rushed in any of my appointments. I highly recommend her.
We discussed my delivery options and we followed my plan as closely as possible, but she is open to almost anything. Also, delivering at Evergreen was a great experience from the room to the nurse assigned to me.
Here's a great thread from the other week, it should be helpful!

I had Group Health for over 3 yrs and loved the OBs at Bellevue Group Health. I delivered my DD#2 and my stillborn at Overlake and the staff was awesome (especially for my stillborn - they were amazing!!!).
At Group Health, I saw several drs: Dr Storck (she doesn't deliver), Dr Lavin, Dr Sekijima - all awesome!
They helped me with secondary infertility, 2 m/c's and my stillborn and were amazingly compassionate and proactive.
I only left Group Health because I changed jobs and the new company does not offer Group Health as an option.
