Update: My beta is scheduled for the weekend, probably Sunday. I was happy it isn't during the week. As I posted earlier, my ET did not bring happy news, but I am hoping and praying for a fighter.
QOTW 1: Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test? Yes, I always say I won't, but I've pretty much resigned myself to doing it for IVF. Especially with the weekend beta, I don't want to find out late Sunday and need to be at work acting like everything is ok by Monday morning.
QOTW 2: What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic?
I don't really drink alcohol very frequently at all. As for non-alcoholic, I love some high-quality coffee...not that I've been having any for a LONG time now.
Two C/P and Lots of Tests
Me = LPD + cancer survivor, DH = low count and morphology
IUIs #1-5, January 2011 - June 2011 = BFN
IVF #1 in July/August 2011 = BFP!!!!!
"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear."
Good luck to: Bella (Beta 8/5), Blueberries8 (beta 8/7), Courtney5583 (Beta #3 8/1), Izzyj04 (beta 8/3), Jillychris (beta 8/3), Kbrodie06 (8/2), Pennylanehd (beta 8/4), Wood6463 (beta 8/4) and anyone else having a Lap, HSG, extra testing, baseline, follie check, ER, ET, FET, Beta or WTF this week!!!!! GOOD LUCK!
Congrats to: Courtney5583 and Snoangle79!!!
BIG (((HUGS))) to: Courtney5583 (low betas) - and anyone else who needs them - You all are in my thoughts!!! ((hugs))
Update: I am now waiting on AF to show up. I believe I O'ed over the weekend and therefore about I have two weeks until she should show. Then we are moving on to IVF #2.
QOTW: 2 questions again this week
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test? I always did with my IUIs and 1st IVF, but I was so depressed that I didn't for FET and probably won't again.
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic -Sangria and Non-Alcoholic Diet Pepsi (though I don't drink much of anymore3 IUI's w/Clomid & Ovidrel=all BFNs
3 IVF (2 Fresh, 1 frozen) =BFN
Jan 2012 New RE & Fresh Cycle =BFP!
Congrats to Snoangel and lots of doubling vibes for Courtney5583!
Good luck to everyone getting betas this week!
Update: Today is day 5 of stims. Tomorrow is first u/s - I'm very anxious to find out what's happening in there.
QOTW: 1) If I make it that far, I'll probably POAS before beta so I can process some with DH before getting the call. I'm so worried about not even making it to that point that I haven't given it much thought.
2) alcoholic - I'm not a big drinker, and I generally prefer beer; non-alcoholic - Newman's Own Virgin Lemonade - yum!!
Me: 36, DH: 42
Dx: DOR and MFI
DH: low count + very low motility; hormones all normal; Sperm DNA Frag. test = poor to fair; male karyotyping normal
Me: FSH 13.4 + AMH 0.26 + hypothyroidism; Scratch the hypothyrodism (?); Blood clotting and immune panel all negative; endometrial biopsy normal
IVF #1 (MDLF - Jul/Aug 2011): BFN (9R, 5M, 3F with ICSI, 3dt of 1 10-cell grade 2, no frosties)
IVF #2 (EP-antagonist - Sep/Oct 2011): BFN (6R, 4M, 3F w/ ICSI, 3dt of 1 6-cell, 1 7-cell, grade 4s, no frosties)
DE IVF #1 (shared cycle - June 2012): c/p (6R, 6F w/ICSI, 3dt 1 8-cell grade A- and 1 7-cell grade A-; no frosties)
DE IVF #2 (shared cycle with new donor - Nov/Dec/ 2012): - BFP!!!!! 12/14/12. U/S on 12/27 shows twins!!!!!
SAIFW/PAIFW
Update: Today I am 8dp3dt. I am feeling fairly certain that none of the 3 embryos took:( My only symptom has been estrogen headaches and I have had absolutely no cramping or twitches or really anything. I had a progesterone check yesterday and my P4 was lower than it's been in the past, which makes me believe there is nothing in there making endogenous progesterone, and of course I already started testing today:-/ BFN.
QOTW:
1) Yes, but I try not to test before 9dp3dt or the equivalent of 12 dpo...this cycle I only made it to 8dp3dt. Testing before really helps me emotionally prepare myself for the beta...I like to be let down slowly rather than all at once!
2) alcoholic: mojitos!! non-alcoholic: I love cranberry juice and also lemonade
IVF #1 = BFN
FET #1 = BFN
FET #2 = BFN
IVF #2 = BFP, b/g twins lost at 20w due to partial abruption/PPROM
IVF #3 = c/p 5w2d
Long-shot Clomid/Prednisone cycle before next IVF = BFP, our beautiful, healthy girl born 6/26/13!
~~
TTC again March 2014
FET #3 - May/June 2014 - all embryos arrested before xfer - back to the drawing board...
IVF #4 - July/August 2014
Update: I am home from ER today. So far so good. We ordered pizza from my favorite restaurant and then I slept all afternoon. After I got up to go to the bathroom I could feel I was going to pass out. DH saved the day.
ET will be next Saturday 6 Aug.
We got 10 eggs, which I am happy with.
QOTD: I never had a beta! We are going to be out of town for ours after this cycle, so I will be on the look out for my period. I'm thinking I might take a test along though.
Alcohol - gin & tonic, mojitos, margaritas... basically anything limey
Non-Alcoholic - sparkling water
Update: Starting BCP tomorrow!!
QOTW:
When doing IUI's I'd always POAS so I'm fairly certain I will be POAS with IVF! I can't stand the not knowing!
I'm not a big alcohol drinker, and as for non-alcoholic...maybe lemonade? To be honest I drink mostly water...I'm not big on pop or anything.
DX: High FSH/DOR
It took 44 cycles, just over 3 years, 6 failed IUI's in MI, and 1 round of IVF at CCRM to get our BFP!
Beta #1 (9dp5dt) = 206, Beta #2 (11dp5dt) = 438
1st u/s @ 6w5d = 11/11/11 = ONE little bean! HB 120bpm!
?Our Baby Boy Born June 26th, 2012?
Good luck Bella (Beta 8/5), Blueberries8 (beta 8/7), Courtney5583 (Beta #3 8/1), Izzyj04 (beta 8/3), Jillychris (beta 8/3), Kbrodie06 (8/2), Pennylanehd (beta 8/4), Wood6463 (beta 8/4) and anyone else having a Lap, HSG, extra testing, baseline, follie check, ER, ET, FET, Beta or WTF this week!!!!!
Congratulations Courtney5583 and Snoangle79!!!
((HUGE HUGS)) Courtney5583 (low betas) and anyone else who needs them.
Update: I'm still on BCPs and Lupron. I go tomorrow for an u/s. We'll see where things go from here. The goal is to be stimming by Monday. But, I don't know how realistic that is. There is a high possibility that I will need another cyst aspiration on Wednesday!
QOTW: 2 questions again this week
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test? Sometimes. But usually it is just to make sure trigger is gone. My clinic does betas early. So, it is better if you can wait to learn your results from the betas.
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic? Alcoholic, probably red wine or margaritas. Although I have always been a fan of mojitos and Bombay Saphire and tonic. Non-Alcoholic, diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Cherry 7 Up. Although I'm becomeing a big fan of Canada Dry's diet ginger ale.
~SAIF/PAIF/Everyone Welcome~
Me= 37 and DH = 41
Dx: DOR, Endo, APA+ (really high beta 2 glycoprotein antibody and high everything else tested), heterozygous MTHFR mutation, positive for lupus anticoagulant, high FSH, low AMH and both tubes blocked (per HSG on 3/8/11)
IVF #1 - long lupron (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized; ET 2 blasts and 1 frozen = BFN
IVF #2 - a version of antagonist with EPP (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts and 1 frozen blast transferred on day 5 = BFN.
IVF #3 April was postponed to May, May was canceled. June/July was canceled. Had a cyst aspiration and then began IVF #3 in August. ER on 8/22; ET on 8/24 with AH. +HPT on 9/5. Beta #1 (11dpo) = 3; Beta #2 (15dpo) = 29; Beta #3 (17dpo) = 60; Beta #4 (19 dpo) = 118. Heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days =132. Lil is here!
TTC#2: Trigger + TI = BFN; Clomid + Trigger + IUI = BFN.
IVF #4: BCP + MDLF + Lovenox = 7R, 1F = Transferred 1 6-cell embryo on day 3 = BFN
IVF #5: MDLF + Lovenox = 4R, 1F = Transferred 1 10-cell compacting embryo on day 3 = BFN
IVF #6: (New RE): Long Antagonist November 2014 (transferred two 8 cell grade 1 embryos and froze one blast) = BFN
FET#1: BFN
Update: Had BW & US this morning. I suspect I will trigger tonight. I had 4 follies over 18 in addition to a number of smaller ones. I'm starting to get really nervous about the retrieval.
QOTW:
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test?
I only POAS once or twice for IUI's. I usually chicken out. I don't know what it is about staring at those sticks but they make me sick to my stomach. I am very up in the air about if I will POAS for this IVF cycle.
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic?
Alocoholic - I like a good margarita on the rocks with salt!
Non - Alcoholic - Iced Coffee is hands down my favorite thing to drink. I could easily go broke buying coffees.
View Raw Image'>
Update: My FET is on Friday!! I'm feeling cautiously hopeful. At my clinic they only freeze the best embryos, so as long as they thaw out okay we should be in business. I was worried about my lining, which was 7 mm for my fresh cycle and seemed to have maxed out at 6 this cycle. Fortunately I raised these concerns with my nurse and got prescribed estrogen patches for the last couple days before ovulation, and at last check my lining was up to 8.4! This is a big relief because I suspect I've had lining issues all along.
QOTW: 2 questions again this week
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test? POAS. I don't like to show people my emotions, including whichever poor nurse has the job to call me with bad news if its a BFN. This way I have time to get the hardcore crying out of the way and have a rational conversation with the nurse. When I get my BFP, I'm sure I'll still be thrilled to get that phone call to confirm it.
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic? Alcoholic - red wine. Non-alcoholic - iced tea or G2.
Update: I'm going in for my mock-transfer tomorrow. Will also be signing consent forms and discussing protocols. We'll be starting at the beginning of my next cycle, which should start in the next two weeks.
QOTW:
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test?
I haven't been through a cycle yet, but I suspect I will POAS right before my blood work so that I can mentaly prepare myself.
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic?
Alcoholic - Red wine also Sweet Tea Vodka and lemonade
Non-Alcoholic - Coffee and Snapple Diet Peach Tea
DX: 6/9/2011: Azoo ICSI/IVF only option for biological child
IVF #1: ER - 9/26 * ET - 10/1 * beta#1 10/13 - 140 * beta#2 10/17 - 477 * beta#3 10/20 - 1101

PAIF/SAIF/PGAL welcome
Update: I'm still waiting! :-( I wanted to cycle before Sept. but now I won't be able to cycle until Sept. Still waiting on the SA fragmentation report. So I'm just hanging in there!
QOTW: 2 questions again this week
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test?
I try not to, but I always cave and do it either the morning of the beta, or the day before. I somehow think it will ease the pain of a negative.. but it doesn't. I hate the pee sticks!!!!
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic?
Booze - I LOVE red wine sangria!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
Non Booze - Coffee! I love a nice dark, rich, full bodied coffee. Jamaican Blue Mountain is my absolute favorite, but it's so super expensive I never get to drink it! When we went to Jamaica on our honeymoon, we went to the actual Blue Mountain coffee planation and I bought the limit. 10 pounds each to bring home! ha ha! I love coffee soo much!
Good luck to: Bella (Beta 8/5), Blueberries8 (beta 8/7), Courtney5583 (Beta #3 8/1), Izzyj04 (beta 8/3), Jillychris (beta 8/3), Kbrodie06 (8/2), Pennylanehd (beta 8/4), Wood6463 (beta 8/4) and anyone else having a Lap, HSG, extra testing, baseline, follie check, ER, ET, FET, Beta or WTF this week!!!!!

Update: Starting bcp for IVF #1 tomorrow. I'll be on them until August 18, and then starting an antagonist protocol.
QOTW 1: Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test? This is my first IVF, so I've never gotten to the blood test stage. I did test during a couple of my IUIs but all were negative so I stopped and just started waiting for my period (so, so hard to do).
QOTW 2: What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic?
Alcoholic -- red wine (my favorite is malbec); non-alcoholic -- coffee
Dx: DOR, Right UU, fibroid (removed)
IUI #1-4: bfn; IVF #1 September 2011=bffn
my read shelf:
update: Still on BCP for FET #2 & will start Lupron in a couple of weeks.
QOTW:
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test? I have been known in the past to usually start POAS 2 days before beta.
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic - Margaritas and Non-Alcoholic? ice tea

My HPT was negative and when I asked the Dr (the one that has done IUI's and listened to me not the IVF Dr) here is her response.
Hi Kristin,
I think that managing your cycles is a challenge because your body is a bit unpredictable. It is hard to say that egg donation is the ONLY thing that will work, but it by far has a much better chance. I think it is somewhat of a gamble to keep trying IVF because your body is not consistent, and that makes it hard to know when to do things. IVF is mostly about timing and quality, and when those are hard to manage it makes it less successful. If it were easy and free, then it would be worth doing, but as you are most aware, it is not easy and even though you may have some coverage it still adds up. The decision to move to egg donation is really an emotional one, because medically people are ready for it before they arrive there emotionally. I would say medically you are there, you just need to decide on the rest.
I have no reaction right now at all. I dont know what to do. I am determined it will work with my own eggs if we can get them. f*ck!!!!!! I need a drink
Update-Hopefully, starting estrogen patch on Thursday for IVF #2 or is it IVF 1.5 not sure. I also went to acupuncture today for the first time.
QOTW: I have POAS but generally I don't. I also never make it to the blood test. They always schedule it for two weeks and my LP is much shorter than that. I see ugly AF way before it's time.

BIG (((HUGS))) to: Courtney5583 (low betas), kbrodie - and anyone else who needs them - You all are in my thoughts!!!
Update:
Had an u/s and b/w today. I had a couple follies at 20, but more between 15-19. RE was considering triggering tonight, but decided to do one more day of stims and another u/s tomorrow. He's making me nervous. Tonight is my last night of meds, so if tomorrow's numbers aren't better...I guess it's trigger either way. E2 is at 3998. Tentative ER on Thursday.
QsOTW: This is my first IVF cycle, so not sure. However, I have always been horrible about POAS way too early in the past, can't help but think it will be too much different this cycle. My saving grace is that I only have a couple HPT's in the house.
Alcoholic: flavored vodka and sprite zero.
Non-alcoholic: water or Light Lemonade.
Good luck to: Bella (Beta 8/5), Blueberries8 (beta 8/7), Courtney5583 (Beta #3 8/1), Izzyj04 (beta 8/3), Jillychris (beta 8/3), Kbrodie06 (8/2), Pennylanehd (beta 8/4), Wood6463 (beta 8/4) and anyone else having a Lap, HSG, extra testing, baseline, follie check, ER, ET, FET, Beta or WTF this week!!!!!
Congrats to: Courtney5583 and Snoangle79!!!
BIG (((HUGS))) to: Courtney5583 (low betas) - and anyone else who needs them - You all are in my thoughts!!!
Update: I have one more week of BCP. We had our injection training today and received some of my medicines. It's extremely overwhelming. Not sure how I'm going to handle all those shots. My next appointment is August 10th for my baseline and to get my stim schedule.
QOTW: 2 questions again this week
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test? I haven't had any betas yet, but I think I'm going to try to wait for the blood test. It's going to be really hard!!
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic? My favorite alcoholic drinks are Raspberry Vodka and Lemonade or Amaretto Sour and non-alcoholic is Coke. I'm a sucker for soda.
Update: Edit: I lied. Put me on the Estrogen list. My baseline was apparently good enough to skip BCP for FET#2. We're a go for getting this done in August!
Might as well put me on the BCP list- We're rolling for FET#2
Period started Sunday, got my baseline set up for Tuesday and had bloodwork last Friday that was good enough that they were willing to give me provera to get things started if they hadn't done it naturally.
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test? I have an agreement with DH. I don't pee on anything until after the beta results. Big concession since our beta is 14 days after transfer (not retrieval).
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic? Alcoholic would be a Peach Bellini. Non alcoholic would be Diet Coke if it had to be something I could drink every day- Root Beer if we're talking favorite treats.Friends for 15 years. Married 8. TTC since January 2009

QOTW: 2 questions again this week
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test? Hell yes! I always need to make sure that I am prepared .. for me it got harder not to POAS with each cycle. Guess getting the BFN's just make you want to prepare yourself more.
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic?
My favourite drink is lemonade on a hot day or peanut butter milk shakes. I can usually pass on the alcoholic beverages unless it is something fruity that masks the taste of the alcohol..

QOTW: 2 questions again this week
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test? The day before, so I can feel prepared. And just HOPING to actually see a second line someday!!!
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic?I love white wine and vodka for alcoholic drinks. Diet Coke, Green Tea with pomegranate for NA drinks.-------------------------
TTC Since 10/2007 with no luck and a 'go with the flow' attitude
1/1010 FINALLY decided to have testing done, dx MFI
7/2010 - DH starts Clomid to increase testosterone and hopefully sperm count
10/2010 - Still low (but improved) sperm count.
11/30/10 - IUI #1 and only = BFN
February 2011 - IVF #1 w/ ICSI =
Chemical PG (Beta 1: 10, Beta 2: 19, Beta 3: 17) :-(
April 2011 - IVF #2 w/ ICSI = BFN :-(
September 2011 - IVF #3 w/ ICSI = BFFN
November 2011 - AMH level tested - .83 (normal for age range)
February 2012 - IVF #4 w/ ICSI = (best response ever yet still) BFFN
April 2012 - DNA testing - NORMAL, RE suggests cycling again with own eggs or using DE
On Break indefinitely...not sure we can afford the emotional and financial roller coaster anymore.
*PAIFW/SAIFW*
I'm 12dp3dt, beta is tomorrow. I've had a very faint lines the last couple of days but they have been so faint that I'm not convinced. Don't want to get my hopes up.
QOTW:
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test?
This is my first IVF and I didn't plan on tested but somehow I ended up at the dollar store with a handful of tests.
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic?
I love beer and I'm a fan of smoothies.

Update: Sorry, I wasn't online yesterday, so missed the check-in. Not much to update. My beta is tomorrow morning. I already know it'll be negative (see #1 below), so I need to schedule a WTF and then I guess we go from here to see what will happen.
I am ready to start with a second opinion and then make some hard decisions about finances because we are 100% OOP!
QOTW: 2 questions again this week
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test?
I hadn't planned on it, but I am at a conference for work and am running the afternoon sessions. I needed to prepare myself for tomorrow because there is no way I could have appeared to be a competent professional in a room of a hundred people if I was waiting for the call with my beta results. POAS this morning=BFN.
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic?
Margarita and Dr. Pepper. I could use either of those right now!!

Update: Getting some b/w done to prep for IVF#4 in Sept. Yay! I am finally starting to feel a little excited...and anxious. I am also having a consult with another RE in 2 weeks to make sure we are doing all we can.
QOTW: 2 questions again this week
1- Do you POAS before beta or do you wait for your blood test? I usually POAS a day or the morning of so that I can prepare myself.
2 - What are your favorite things to drink? Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic? I like whites and reds (unfortunately reds don't like me). I like vodka, tequila, rum (and any good drink that uses them)! I also love fruit juices and water.
Moving forward with Adoption 2017!
