Strollers/Car Seat--so many options!!

Today was the first time DH and I went to Babies R Us to look at cribs, strollers all of the big items. We must of spent an hour in the stroller section. There are soooo many to choose from..so many options!! We ran into another expecting couple who were having just as much trouble as we were picking out one. We left without choosing one we really liked. Anyone else have trouble picking out items like this? If you already picked out or bought your stroller/car seat which one did you go with?

Re: Strollers/Car Seat--so many options!!

  • We have the Graco Alano FlipIt travel system. It comes with the Snug Ride infant car seat, which is the one Baby Bargains recommends.

  • I hear you susanb--I thought this was going to be fun!! I'm so overwhelmed! Sad
  • I think this area was where Baby Bargains was the biggest help.  Definitely good to read all the reviews and info about the different car seats and strollers in one place, and narrow down to a brand.  Then the only real decision making you have to do is style/pattern.

We went to Buy Buy Baby yesterday to figure it out, too, and decided fairly quickly actually. We went with the Graco SnugRide 30 car seat (https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?BRN=1&sku=17765000&):

I will use my 20% off coupon for the car seat (we will get it this week) and I ordered the stroller off of amazon for $203 with free shipping!

  • We are doing the Chicco travel system. Baby Bargains liked the car seat, Consumer Reports LOVED the car seat, and the handle on the stroller is adjustable for my super tall DH. And it folds with one hand. Love it.

  • We have the graco metrolite travel system with the snugride carseat.  I can't remember the name of the print.  We bought it a year and half ago when I was pregnant with my daughter.  I am not even sure if they still sale that model.

We are planning on purchasing the snugride carseat in lily but i read about the metrolite strollers and all of those along with the quattro ones seem to have been recalled for causing several injuries and deaths.

We were able to find a new stroller called the graco urbanlite which is similar but the lily pattern matches perfectly!

  • We went with the Chicco Keyfit 30. It has EPS foam and side impact protection and is consistently rated as one of the easiest seats to use.

We have a snap and go for the first few months and after that we will asses our stroller needs based on usage. Most likely we will get a jogging stroller.

  • I can't decide between the stroller with the handles that flip and the one with the colors that I absolutely love! decisions decisions!

  • When I was pg last time, I thought I would die with all the choices.

Ultimately I went with a Baby Trend Snap and Go stroller frame and the Baby Trend car seat. I waited to pick out a regular stroller until I could figure out what would be best for me. I ended up with a Peg Pereggo Aria for my stroller after DD outgrew her carrier. We will use the same with DS when he arrives - luckily they are all gender neutral.

The recall I read about said that the metrolite that was made before 2008 was recalled.  Mine was made in 2009.  I just registered it today, since we never used it.  So they should contact me if it is.  I am going to do some more research, though.  Thanks!

  • We got a chicco keyfit travelsystem for the infant stage, also registered for a lightweight chicco stroller for when she is older
  • We are going with the new Britax B-Agile and Car Seat that fits with it.  It comes with a free extra base now through the end of August.

We're going with the chicco keyfit based on consumer reports and the baby bargains book. Haven't picked out a stroller yet, but I think we'll probably go with the bob and get an umbrella stroller later. We mostly walk outside so an all terrain stroller is a must for us.

  • For ds we had the Graco Alano travel system.  Loved it, will be using the infant carrier again, and still use the stroller with ds.  We're now having trouble picking out a double.  Ugh.

DH and I are having a hard time choosing too. We have looked at Target and Baby Depot. We are going to BRU this week. My DH has to research everything before we buy. So he likes the safety first aire. We are going to look at britax. DH so far likes the reviews it has gotten the best.

We did the exact same! The only difference is we got the SnugRide 35. I got it in the mail two days ago and am in LOVE with it all!

  • We are 6'5" and 5'11", so we are going with the baby jogger city elite with a car seat adaptor.  We have smaller cars, so we are using the chico keyfit 30 car seat.  Those are good for smaller cars.

We tried the B-Ready, B-Agile and Mini, but ultimately liked the elite due to the height and ease of folding.  I referenced Baby Bargains, countless reviews and we viewed the strollers at buy buy baby.

We also registered for the chico snap and fold stroller in case I have a c section and the jogger is too heavy in the beginning.  :)

We bought our MetroLite stroller in 2009 and registered it then and have been using it with DD since last feb and I've  had no issues or notice of a recall.  We have the rittenhouse pattern and love it.  Oh we have the Snugride 32.

  • I'm eyeing the Jeep Stroller... https://www.amazon.com/Jeep-Liberty-Limited-Terrain-Stroller/dp/B003PNJ1YA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1312201079&sr=8-4

For car seat, probably a Graco one that will work with the stroller.

What frame did you get to go with the Chicco car seat? I'm so nervous that it won't fit.
