TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

IVF Orientation today...We have a schedule!

It went well and I feel better about the whole process but I'm a little overwhelmed by all the meds! I stop birth control on tuesday and go in for b/w and u/s on Friday and then if all looks good I start injections on Saturday August 6th.  I'm on those for 7-12 days (Dr thinks it will be closer to 7-9 for me) then trigger and 36 hours later we do the retrieval.  They also did a trial transfer today to measure my uterus etc and that was a little uncomfortable but tolerable and not as bad as I thought it would be.  I'm anxious to get this all started but scared I'll some how screw up my meds!

The Nurse gave me the option of injectable or suppository Progesteron and I picked the suppositories.  She put me on Endometrin twice a day because she said she's had less complaints from patients about irritation etc.  For those of you ladies who have taken progesterone which did you find to be easier?

Whoo hoo! So exciting. I was terrified I was going to mess up the meds, it really isn't that hard once you start it. I used an app for my phone that reminded me which meds I had to take when. Good luck! Keep us updated.

I'm good =) Still looking for work, it's awful! I have (counts on fingers) 12 years experience and nobody will offer over $10 an hour. Florida is a cheap place to live, but NOT that cheap!

  • Good luck! I did injectibles so know nothing about the suppositories. I'm one of the strange people who prefer the injectibles.

  • Good luck! I've used both types of prog. I had a terrible reaction to the injectible PIO. I think you made the right choice, although you'll find differing opinions.

  • The meds are overwhelming at first, but honestly after your first time or two of dialing everything up and mixing your menopur and all that jazz, it's like "Duh, this is so simple!"

    Good luck!

  • GL! I always did the supp. P4. Not the injections. The supps were fine....no issues at all. You may want to wear a panty liner though.

Mine didn't come with an applicator, but I had a pre-seed applicator in my drawer, and it worked perfectly.

  • Good luck!  I've never done the injectable progesterone, but I've done the oral and vaginal.  I'm on vaginal now.  My new RE doesn't prescribe the oral because he just thinks the Endometrin is so, so much better.  I've done well with it but it's messy!

  • Good luck hun!!!  It's really not that bad, just overwhelming at first.  Keeping everything straight.  I used to set an alarm on my phone to make sure my shots were on time.  I used PIO, so I don't know anything about the supps.

  • Yay for a schedule! I start BCP on my next CD1, and we will be getting our schedule too! You'll do fine with the meds.

  • Thanks Ladies! I'm really starting to get anxious now.  I take my last bcp tomorrow and then I start injections Saturday night.  The next couple weeks are going to be intense and I'm trying to just take it one day at a time and not over think the whole thing.  I don't know what I'd do w/o you ladies. So Thank you!! Smile

  • Sorry I am a little late responding.  I have done both progesterone injections and suppositories (Endometrin).  My last RE had me inject and this RE has me use Endometrin.  So far, the Endometrin is a little messy (you leak a litte during the day) but SO SO SO SO SO X 1000 much easier than the injections. Of course I had an allergic reaction to the PIO and had to switch to cotton seed oil. It was a mess. Anyway... go with the suppositories!!!

  • Good luck Crystal!  The meds are totally overwhelming at first, but just take it day by day and you'll be ok.  I only took the crinone inserts and I didn't have any problems or major side effects from them.  Keep us posted on your progress.
