We are adopting a five month old husky that was rescued from a puppy mill. She's almost all white, with a couple of large very light brown spots. We already have a Charlie and Gracie.
We are very anti food names, and Alaskan/Eskimo names for huskies. Thanks!
Dog's respond best to names with distinct syllables, since that's what they hear mostly. Also, hard consonants like K, T, D, and S are easiest for them to distinguish
Akira
Eska - a creek in Sutton
Kaya "stay and don't go back
Sakari "sweet"
Siku "ice"
Sesi "snow"
Nuka "bay"
*** "fast"
ETA: Reading fail. ANTI eskimo/Alaskan. Sorry. And apparenly s-u-k-a is a bad word. Hmmm.
Um, Emmy, Molly, Ellie?
Names that have meaning relating to "light" or "white": Alina, Eleanor (Ellie), Lainey, Lucia, Lucy, Malana, Phoebe, Alba, Cilla, Elva, Gwen, Petunia

Maybe Blanca or Bianca since they both mean "white."
Gwyneira (pro: Gwyn-Ira) which is Welsh and means "white snow"
or just Eira (pro: Ira) which is Welsh for snow.
Nieve or Nieves which is spanish for snow.
I also like the name Winter with a nn of Winnie.
Congrats on your new addition and thanks for rescuing!
My dog is Cara. It's the Irish word for friend.
Do you want to stick with the "ie" ending though?
Hooray for those northern breed dogs (I am totally biased though)!
My in-laws have a Siberian Husky named Nikita. I also like: Niko, Loki, Thor (though that gets over-done), Keena.
Have fun and watch out---those sled dogs can be scary smart and remember that fences are like IQ tests for them!
Not necessarily! It was happen-stance. I named Charlie, and Gracie came along 5 years later, and my husband named her.
