SO... I bought a TON of maternity clothes from Old navy about 2 months ago, over half the stuff doesnt fit so I planned on returning it. However today I am boxing the stuff up and I see that Old navy's return policy is only 45 days past purchase!! Of course its been like 60 days since I bought the stuff... grr. I dont want to just hold on to all these clothes I cant wear, so what do you think would happen if I just sent them back anyway? Do you think they would then send the stuff back to me and reject my return? Or do you think they would just take it back? Any other suggestions on what I can do with these clothes to get them back to Old navy and out of my bedroom??
**Update**
So the same day that I typed this to you all I decided to just box all the stuff up and send it back, I figured they could either accept my late return or pay to ship the stuff back to me. I just got an email from them saying they received my return and refunded my credit card! Take that, 45 day return policy! =P
Re: Old Navy return policy wwyd? **UPDATE**
The policy is no returns or exchanges beyond 45 days. I guess I should have paid better attention when I was buying, but I thought for sure they had a 90 day ret policy. Plus a lot of the clothes are summery, and since summer hasnt really showed up, I kind of dont want the clothes.
Maybe I should just try and sell them on secondhand chic or something?
Do they still have the tags on them? Do you still have the receipt? If so, they will probably give you store credit, at least.
If that doesn't work I would sell or consign!
Can you sell them at the Bumps and Babies Fair?
The only Easter Bunny I can get behind.

Lynchie I think the only store you could take them to might be Auburn. If my memory serves me right all the maternity was return by mail when I ordered online. But I know that Auburn has a maternity section oh and so does Factoria.
Everett has one too, but I think you are down south!
Yeah I got them online, and they all say return by mail only (which is dumb) they also dont have tags on them, not because I took them off, but apparently when you buy stuff from them online they dont put tags on them, it just comes in the bag? I would definitely be ok with store credit. I'm gonna give it a shot, whats the worst that could happen? Thanks guys!
Yep, next to every item it says "return by mail only" I'm guessing its because theyre Mat items, but I have seen most of this stuff in the store... I paid for it on my Old Navy/Gap card so I'm hoping that being a card holder plays in my favor here
Yeah, their maternity stuff is return by mail only, which is dumb. I agree with Laura though, it's worth a shot to go in person and break out the tears if needed.
I don't have any advice, but just wanted to say, I ent to return some maternity pants at The Gap when I was PG with Audrey. I bought them at like 12 weeks and they never did fit so I returned them at like 35+ weeks. I had the recepit, tags attached, everything.
The said their policy was xx amount of days and they wouldn't take them back. SO I said, how about without a receipt? they said they had to look it up to see if it was eligible. It was AND, it was coming up at MORE than I paid! The manager returned them then on that system and had to pay me more than the receipt I had in my hand had she done the return that way! HA, take that GAP!
This isn't totally true -- or at least right now. I had a return that was longer than 45 days (we're talking closer to 65 here) to the Baby Gap a couple months ago, and one to Banana Republic last week (bought at the end of April) and they took both back with no problems. I don't know if it made a difference that I have a Gap Silver card, but it wasn't an issue at all, and they are all the same company. I'd say that it's worth a shot, J, especially since you have an ON card; just take it to a store that has maternity. They may offer you current selling price, which is what BR did, but since it was the same price I had paid, I was just fine.
