Based on my insurance, I have these three to choose from and have them 100% covered. Which one would you/are you going with?

  • The Medela is by far a better pump especially if you end up using it on the long-term and not only here and there.

  • My work also has a Medela Lactina, Hospital grade pump that I will be using when I return to work. I just need to by the accessory parts to go with it. I'm super excited about this.

  • I bought a Medela Pump In Style Advanced.   I've heard that parts are a lot easier to find.  I don't know if the one your insurance offers uses the same parts as the PISA, or if those parts can be easily ordered, but it's something to consider.

Here's the link that I'm looking at the three descriptions. In my opinion it makes the Ameda one look the most attractive. But that's why I've posted this poll, because I know Medela is a great brand! This model just looks very simple/basic and I didn't know if it would offer everything I'd need?

  • I'm getting the hygeia pump through my insurance, but out of those you posted, I would select the medela!

This is also what I'm getting because it is the only one my insurance covers. I'm okay with that though---seems like a great pump!

  • My insurance covered either the medela pump in style advanced or the Ameda one. I went with the medela one because all of my friends recommended that one and like PP said the parts are easy to find.
  • I have the medela PISA (from DS1) and used my insurance benefits to get another pump so I don't have to carry it back and forth from home and work. I would have preferred another medela but edge park would not allow me to order til mid March (and they were sold out of the medela). Ameda allowed me to order it early so I went the purely yours instead. I've heard great things about both brands.
  • I have two. I'm an exclusive pumper and keep my Ameda Purely Yours by my bed and my Medela downstairs. I have the Pump In Style. Both are phenomenal. If you aren't going to exclusively pump I would totally get the Ameda.

  • Ameda Purely Yours is what is covered through my insurance so that wins. My best friend used it and said she actually preferred it over the medela, so I''m not worried about it.

  • I put the Ameda Purely Yours because that's what my insurance company sent me (at no cost to me). If my insurance didn't cover a breast pump 100%, I probably would have purchased the Medela. I plan on breast feeding exclusively anyway so the Ameda should be good enough.
  • Ameda since that's what my insurance covers!
  • I accidentally voted for the Ameda pump. That is the one I'm getting b/c it's free through my insurance, but if I had a choice between Ameda and Medela I'd choose Medela.

  • I went with the Medela FreeStyle, and a Medela swing pack/backpack single pump as back up.
  • The Ameda is an excellent pump, the name just isn't as well known as Medela. One of the best things about the Ameda is that its a closed system so the milk or any condensation can't get into the actual pump. This makes it safe to use for multiple kids and sharing with friends/relatives. (I know people share and reuse the Medela but it's not recommended, just as a side note). :)
