bedtime at 6:30 or 7pm? anyone else?

my LO seems ready to go down for the night around this time. he slept 6 hrs when i put him down at 7pm. unfortunately i had to try to go to bed at this time to if i wanted to take advantage of the stretch. he fusses if we try to keep him up longer. i know that once he is older this will be a good bedtime because at that point he will be sttn and MH and i will have some alone time after he goes to bed. anyone else's LO on this type of sleep schedule?

  • Yes! We find it easier to go to bed with him at this time to avoid the "witching hour" as someone called it! He's happy when we're all in bed together, then he nurses to sleep. No six hour stretch here though. Maybe 4 max. And he likes to wake up at four to "play" and "talk" to the fan for awhile; he doesn't cry so it's cute. But, he also to demands to get out of bed by 6:30! It's fine with us. We prefer to go to bed early and get up early.

  • yea he usually does 4 1/2 to 5 hrs. we got lucky with 6 hrs. he does get up at 6 am for the day, but will take a morning nap around 7.

  • DD has lately starting needing to be put down at around 8 pm. She gets very fussy if she's up past then, like she is right now! DH is trying to soothe her to sleep, but she's over-tired at this point. I read that around 6 weeks of age, some babies will start needing to go to bed between 6-8 pm.
