HPT for dummies

Hi ladies!  I am 9dp3dt for my 3rd IVF.  For my first 2 cycles I spotted or got AF on 7dpt or 8dpt, so this is the longest I've made it without any bleeding.  I had never POASed until about an hour ago.  Predictably, I'm regretting it and just generally freaking out.  It was an early test - the +/- kind.  The horizontal line was extremely faint, and the vertical line (the one that counts) was even more faint...like barely there.  I didn't use first morning urine and I've been drinking a lot of water today (I cant seem to get enough).  So, for you HPT veterans, two questions:  (1) does using FMU make a difference?; and (2) is it true that any line, no matter how faint, is a positive?  Thanks!

    (1) does using FMU make a difference?  Yes

    (2) is it true that any line, no matter how faint, is a positive?  Yes, majority of the time

    (3) Do try to stay away from IC & Blue Dye tests, they have a history of giving false positives.  A very popular brand around here are FRER HPT.
