I'm not sure if I'm having a supply issue or what--so far my LO is gaining just fine, but we haven't been to the dr. in a month. That said, she's outgrowing her clothes and seems to be putting on weight. BUT, this kid wants to nurse for hours at a time all day long. At first I thought it was a growth spurt, but it's been going on for 4 days now. She's not going any longer at night (in fact starting waking more frequently). she has reflux but she's on meds for it already, so shouldn't that be taking care of the problem vs. her needing to nurse all day for comfort? From the very beginning she was a long nurser--each session is about an hour. her dr and even my LC say that's probably too long, but if I force her off sooner, she's upset. Am I the only one with this problem? Maybe I just have a low storage capacity and she needs to go that long to get enough? It's just getting to me...I have another child to take care of too, I can't spend all day nursing. Any advice is appreciated!

Growth spurts can last longer than 4 days. Sometimes DD's lasted a week.
DD was a slow nurser until like 4.5 months. Like it literally took 45 min each session. She just really loved nursing (still does) & would just relax into it & kind of nap while she was nursing.
I don't see how old your baby is, although I may have missed it, but I think she'll become more efficient at some point for sure. I don't think it means you have low supply. I battled oversupply for quite a while.
Yeah I hear you about trying to figure out how to care for another child. I worry about that for my next baby. Maybe get a carrier so you can nurse & not be glued to the couch? I learned how to nurse in the Moby & the Ergo so I could get stuff done when DD was doing her marathon sessions. Good luck mama!
