Ideas for a play space/living space

I've been looking (on pinterest and elsewhere) for ideas for converting our dining room to a joint kids play space/room where I don't feel accosted by children's items and garish decor.  Any ideas/pins/etc?

    Sorry--no pins.  Couldn't join Pinterest without a FB login, and you know how much I hate FB.

    But I did see something in The Land of Nod catalog this morning about layering kid and adult rugs so that there is still a sense of adult in a playroom.  I thought that was cool.

    Sounds like you could use some closed storage options instead of open shelving or bins to hide kid stuff. Can you PIP your current setup for size, layout etc?
