Why do I keep POAS??

Anyone else keep POAS even after BFP?  I've POAS 4 times already!  2 the first night at 9DPO both BFP's and then 2 yesterday both BFP's but for some reason I keep getting this urge to test again just to "make sure".  I just went out and got a digital and i'll take that tomorrow morning with FMU (since they're less sensitive than FRERs) maybe that will help?  I have no idea.  I think seeing all the CP and M/C posts have got me worried and the fact that DH won't "believe" my BFPs until after AF is due isn't helping... Anyway just needed to vent to someone and see if anyone else is having the same POAS addiction.

  • I completely understand you POAS addiction. I also have the same addiction and fear. I've told my husband that it won't really settle in until I waaaay past when AF should have arrived.

  • My husband and I weren't trying to get pregnant - but I thought I was pregnant, so I took a dollar store line style test and for the first time in my life I saw a faint line and FREAKED out. :) Immediately drove to the drug store and bought a two pack of digital. Took one immediately, positive result within 30 seconds. Then yesterday I decided to take the other one too, just in case. So don't worry, I understand the need to double check. Don't worry, he'll come around. Give it time!
  • I have a 3 pack and they'll expire long before my next one, so I figure I better use them up lol.

  • I've POAS 7 times since my BFP, I've had a miscarriage and a Chemical pregnancy so it is easing my mind, whatever makes me feel better I"m going to do it!
  • With DS, I POASed 7 times until I finally felt confident that everything was okay.

I've only done it once so far this time, but I bought a 3-pack, so I have a feeling those other 2 will be used by the end of the week.

  • That's nothing.

It's been 6 days since my BFP and I've peed on approximately 25 tests.

  • Today is the first morning I have NOT POAS since my first BFP Monday night!  My temps skyrocketed yesterday and are still up today (15dpo) which has helped ease my mind some...I guess I figure for my temps to be so high, my body must still be producing the hormones it needs to sustain the baby.  I will, however, probably keep POAS at least once a week till my first appt Aug 18.  Yesterday the line on my FRER was just as dark as the control, which also made me feel good (though my IC lines still haven't gotten any darker, whats up with that!?!).  Its just really hard to relax and trust that everything that needs to be happening is happening in there!  Especially since I don't really have many symptoms - cramping is gone, boobs are meh, a little sore, I'm a little tired but nothing crazy, there's some pressure down there every now and then, but thats it!  Feels like waiting for that BFP took so much action and intent, and now that I'm KU, I'm just WAITING :)

  • everytime i'm going to tell someone the news I have to POAS just to make sure its real!!!

so far i've POAS 4 times- 2 the first day, 1 the day i told my parents, 1 the day i told my BFF and tomorrow we're going to tell my in laws so i know i'll POAS in the morning!!! LOL

i cant help it- until i see a doppler or hear a heart beat- im sure i'll pee on more!!!

  • I'm right there with you. I've lost count of how many tests I've taken. I had a missed miscarriage before I got pregnant with my son, meaning I went in for a regular checkup having no clue anything was wrong and found out the baby had stopped growing two weeks prior. So this time I don't want any surprises. This is the only way I have to make sure nothing crazy has happened until my appointment on the 25th. I say, whatever keeps you sane, do it! Smile
