Announcing Brooklyn Elsie

Ms. Brooklyn Elsie celebrated her birthday today :)

6lbs 11oz, 21in & a full head of brown hair!

I had a whirlwind labor and delivery.. here is a timeline of today's events:

6am: Set up in room

745am: IV Started

755am: Pitocin Started

8am: Checked - 3.5 cm

827am: Bag of waters ruptured

1140am: Epidural administered

208pm: Checked - 5-6 cm. Started to feel contractions/pain on left side, developed the shakes.

255pm: Checked -10 cm. Entire left side lost epidural. Tons of pressure.. time to push!

338pm: Brooklyn was born!

Around 255pm Brooklyn showed signs of distress due to my quick progression and her rapid decent into the birth canal. She was born with the cord wrapped around her neck one time. Her apgars were 8 & 9, she is since doing wonderfully. I received a 1st degree internal tear (due to her rapid delivery) that only required one stitch. We are working on getting a good latch, but for now her and daddy are snuggling.
