pack and play question

If I plan to use a pack and play in place of a crib/bassinet, does it need sheets?  I noticed that the one we picked is slightly padded, but was thinking if the baby is going to sleep in there often, that maybe it should have sheets?  There are not a lot of sheet options, but I would register for maybe 2-3 to have on hand.  I assume it wouldn't need a waterproof cover, since it is nylon-ish already.  Am I right on that?

Re: pack and play question

  • Our niece stays with us often and sheets for the pack and play were the best investment ever! Leaky bottles/sippys, spit up, diaper leaks/blow outs, etc are murder to get out. So nice to take the sheet off and throw it in the wash.

Yes, I would get sheets unless you want to be cleaning the mattress every time there is a tiny spit up or leak. Personally I would go for the waterproof cover too if you can. It is amazing how much spit up and blow outs happen in the first few weeks and it is really nice to be able to just switch out a sheet rather than having to disinfect the mattress and have it be wet and not usable until it dries.
  • Thank you ladies!  I will add them to the registry!

  • yes i would get a sheet to make it a bit more comfy for your little one. Graco actually makes quilted sheets for their pack n plays, we got ours at BRU. we got two quilted sheets and two regular sheets. the regular ones don't provide much more comfort but do provide the protection from messes!
