Court Today: Update

For those who didn't already read this in my blog:

SD was requesting that some visitation be reinstated.  We had already agreed on everything so this was basically finalizing it in writing.  Even though SD was over thirty minutes late he still made it before our case was called.  So the new visitation order is as follows:

Two visits/week for no less than 1.5 hours, to be supervised by me.

SD has to drug test bi-weekly as a stipulation of his probation.  Upon failure of ONE drug test, he will have his visitation revoked entirely.

We will go back to court to review in five months.

I am fine with it and, in all honesty, SD appears to be doing better, for now at least.  If he is going to do the right thing I have no problem with him being involved in P's life.  My only concern is for the future but that is, of course, an unknown that I have no control over.  Here's hoping that the visits can go smoothly and he can begin to transition back into P's life.

    Wow I'm glad everything went well for you today. Like you said, the future is unknown and hopefully he will prove himself to be the father P deserves.

    I hope he stays clean and on the right path for all parties involved. Drugs are a slippery slope.

    Oh geez.  Good luck!  I know you had problems with visits before.  I currently have to supervise my ex's visits with DD.  The first few went fine, and then all hell broke loose!  He's not happy now that he's realizing that we'll never be together again, that I don't want to anything to do with him, and that I'm doing GREAT without him.  Now our attorneys are going to fight it out in court again.  Ugh...it sucks, so I hope it goes more smoothly for you this time!
