Pregnant after 35

I'm worried about too many kicks?

I am at 19 weeks 3 days pregnant and had only felt a few flutters in the past few weeks...  Yesterday at my doctor's appointment, my doctor said that was normal because I have an anterior placenta and apparently that would make me feel kicks less than others.  He said I might not feel much until week 21 or 22.  I was fine with that UNTIL TODAY!  Today, the baby is going nuts in my belly...  My first response was AHHH, Yay, I am finally feeling the baby...  But now I am starting to get a bit concerned.  I went from basically feeling nothing yesterday -- to feeling the baby all day long and wondering if this baby ever sleeps.  It is as if the baby is doing summersaults and flips in my stomach.  It's painless, but it is such a dramatic change.  Should I be concerned?  Anyone else have a drastic change like this?

  • Babies have normal times of being very active and then very quiet while you're pregnant.

I have an anterior placenta too and thought I would feel this baby less...nope! I feel him all the time.

  • Oh, too many kicks wouldn't bother me. LO is probably sleeping when you are (lucky you!) and when you are preoccupied and not noticing the lack of movement. I love feeling the baby move. I am really looking forward to it. :)

  • That is always a good sign. Lots of kicks. Just hope you aren't kept awake by them. I am usually awakened by several good kicks at 3AM. Hmm wondering if that's a sign.

  • I think they have lazy days and active days and that seems to be normal. I wouldn't worry, if you felt nothing at all for a while I'd maybe check with ob but feeling them move is probably not a bad thing. mine are very active today but somedays not nearly as much, its a treat to me when I feel them move so the more it happens the happier I am lol I wouldnt worry if I were you
