do i have to pump?

I have a 9 week old baby.if i dont nurse her one day for like 6-7 hours is it really necessary to pump? as far as my supply is concermed? it is just this one day....will it affect my supply?

  • You don't have to, but you'll want to. If you have a normal supply, your LO probably won't be able to nurse enough to relieve the pressure. I guess it'll go away on it's own, eventually, but I'd be too scared of getting a clogged duct to find out.

    This! Plus you might just start leaking. I know I do if I go to long with out nursing or pumping. I have soaked through shirts in no time! Lol.

  • It should be fine, if a bit painful.

  • It should be fine though you might notice a dip in your supply the next day.   However it will probably be painful.   I went back to school when DS was 5 months old and the first few days where I had to wait 4 hours in between were extremely painful.
