Postpartum Depression

who to call?

If i think i need to talk to a doctor about ppd do i call my ob or my pcp?  My DS is almost 5 months

Re: who to call?

  • I talked to my OB during one of my post-pregnancy check ups and he writes my Zoloft scripts. You could start there. Call and ask if they can help or if you should speak with your pcp.

  • When I had it with DD, I talked to my OB. He referred me to a help group at the hospital.

  • I would start with your OB. Did you feel comfortable with him/her? Or would you be more comfortable with your PCP? Either way, call SOMEONE and I'm sure they will be glad to help you. Good for you for reaching out. Big hugs!

  • My OB said to call him if I had any ppd problems whatsoever, so i'd start there.  Hope you find something to help!  I had ppd for about 2 1/2 months...def call if you think you need to!
