I was driving to my OB appointment today, and was thinking about the drive to L&D when we have to make it. I was curious about how far you have to go.
For us, while there is a hospital closer to our house, the hospital where I will give birth is about a 25-30 minute drive from our house with no traffic. (We can probably do it in 20-25 if DH is driving.
)

Re: How far are you from L&D?
Where are you going, tinshee?
I hope and pray this kid doesn't come during rush hour- we are going to B&W. No traffic- 25-30 mins. With traffic- 48 hours.
About two blocks. Seriously, I could practically throw a rock and hit L&D. With my history of "OMG barely made it to the hospital" deliveries, this is probably a good thing.
DS asked me if I could walk to the hospital when I go into labor. :P
We live MAYBE 2 miles from the hospital.

Oh man, I have you all beat!!! (Which I'm not sure is a good thing) lol
Our hospital is exactly 50 miles one way from us, which, because of back roads only, takes about an hour and 15 minutes to get to. DH can probably make it in about an hour (maybe a little less) if he rushed it and really sped, but then he runs the high risk of hitting deer. Not to mention the fact that there is fracking/gas drilling going on all over the place, so we always get stuck behind the damn dump trucks and water trucks, which can lengthen the drive. It's windy roads, so you have to wait for the perfect time to pass them in a no-passing zone, which gets very annoying (they only go about 35mph)..

I'd say 10 min tops...Pretty much right down the major street that we live off of, which is awesome.
Now, if I were at work, that's a different story (plan to be working at home already around that time though)..but if I were at the office/warehouse, it would be more like...up to an hour, depending on the time of day. Maybe 45 min.
Ohhh Southern CA... where one route could take anywhere in the range of 20 min to hours, depending on the direction/time/traffic... lol
I'm only about 2 miles away from L&D. All of my family is about 2 hours away, though so if I go into labor and they can't get here I will be taking myself, so I'm happy that I'm so close.
5-10 minutes from home.
50 miles from work. -_-. I hope I don't go into labor at work!

20-30 min depending on traffic. maybe 40 in rush hour.
We are the same; there is a hospital within 5 minutes, but that is not where I'm delivering. DH assures me that he will get us there in time
