Does Anyone Else Feel Yucky Almost All the Time?

I just hit 16 weeks and had mild morning sickness and lots of exhaustion in the first trimester.  I felt better at 11 weeks, like overnight, but after a week or so I began feeling like in the first trimester--tired, completely unmotivated and just generally yucky--I call it "low grade yucky."  I am an educator and have had July off, and have gotten nothing done around the house, and done nothing fun because I always feel so.....yucky.  I go back to work on Monday and wonder how I am gonna run a school if I keep feeling this way......anyone else out there having a similar experience?  I fat because I can't get to the gym, I feel lazy, and feel guilty for "wasting" my time off in July!  Ugh!

Re: Does Anyone Else Feel Yucky Almost All the Time?

  • OMG I could have written this post myself!! I am a teacher and go back Aug 11 and I'm SO disappointed with how little I've done this summer to prepare for this year. I finally got some motivation back today and cooked a nice dinner, vacuumed out the car, picked up the house, etc. Then I fell asleep at 6pm. Frustrating!! I'm awake now but heading back to bed in a bit.

I did have an appt with my midwife today and she said 14-16 weeks is generally the end all of this yuckiness. Hopefully you'll feel relief soon! Hang in there. :) I just tell myself that millions of teachers have been pregnant, too, and they've made it work. I can too!!

  • Me! I am 15 weeks and still don't feel that great. I am eating more than I was, but still not very much and defintely not a variety of things. I still feel nausea and tired. I feel like I have spent my entire summer throwing up or on the couch. I am not ready to get back into the classroom in three weeks! My doctor claims that there is a good chance that I will just wake up one day and feel great. Yeah, I am still waiting for that day.
  • I feel this way all the time, too, and I'm also a teacher.  I'm still throwing up on the regular, and I'm really worried about that.  I'm actually really thankful I had all summer off--no WAY I could have worked this whole time the way I've been feeling!

  • Oh man this makes me nervous! I still feel sick all the time but I'm only 13 weeks. To think I still could have another 3 or 4 weeks of this is a horrible thought. I'm sorry you still feel sick all of the time. Hope you feel better and get your energy back soon!
  • ME! Im 15 weeks. Its seems to have died down a little bit but not much I still feel yucky most of the time. :( It sucks!

  • I'm with ya! I don't feel like crap for maybe 2 or 3 hours a day at best. I feel terrible when I wake up, and terrible past 3 pm. Overnight sickness ahoy. I still wake up numerous times per night yo throw up as well. Here's hoping we all feel better soon!

  • I am right there with you.  My summer has been far from productive and I certainly have not read all the books I was suppose to read for my new job, nor have I planned out any curriculum (I have to make it up, they don't have any for me).  It sucks.  I am hoping we all feel better soon!
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

  • lol-- I'm beyond low grade yucky!  Those are the good days-- and yes, I'm completely unproductive 98% of the time.  It is very annoying-- I'm usually go-go-go but this baby has slowed me down to an unbelievable rate!

It really scares me because this is my first & I always wanted a large family.  But I'm not really sure I would want to put myself through this many more times, so I'm really hoping my next pregnancy is a breeze!

My m/s was getting better, but then last night the toilet & I had a rendezvous... and it feels like we may do the same this morning!

I'm ready to enjoy this pregnancy, but it's been kind of impossible so far!

  • Oh, it feels so good to know I am not alone!! I AM so sorry that you all are feeling bad too, but I was worried that something is wrong with me, I am not enjoying being pregnant at all......I am usually able to get stuff done and go to the gym everyday, and had this grand plan of being healthy and active during my pregnancy....ugh, that is out the window---I guess this is the new normal.  I was prepared for my life to be completely different in January, and have heard that the first year is incredibly difficult with sleep deprivation and everything else, but I had no idea that the take over would actually begin this past May!!!!  I do feel lucky to have had July off, II guess I really needed a month of nothing, but going back to work Monday (I am a principal) is scaring me!!  Hang in there ladies!!!  As one poster said, teachers have being doing this for decades, so we can too!!
  • I never had m/s but I just feel like I have been in a funk for almost 3 months.  I'm exhausted all the time even when I'm not tired (if that makes any sense!).  DH doesn't think I'm any more tired than I was before (yes...really) so he doesn't understand when I tell him that I didn't get anything accomplished.  I'm ready to feel like a regular human being again!
