Breastfeeding

up to 9 months

i've made it 9 months so far! i'm impressed with myself, lol!

as of last week when i got my second post partum period, i am no longer pumping enough for daycare bottles and have had to use frozen for one bottle each day. My frozen stash is basically depleted, and I'm not sure we'll make it to a year without formula, but I am very proud of what we've managed so far!

  • great job mel!! i think of you often when i consider stopping =)

i am hoping to make it to 6 months but i am struggling so much with pumping!

  • Congrats. My LO is 9 months old too!  I just lost out on one bottle a day of pumping too.   I was able to replace it by having my DD eat one yobaby yogurt in its place. I increased the solids.  She naturally dropped one bottle at daycare. So that alleviated the pressure and I think I will be able to make it to the year point!

I EP'd for 6 months for the older one, and couldn't do more. I knew #2 would either nurse or get formula fromt he get-go. I give you credit!

hmmm - we're building up solids now. She's mastered puffs, and last night had halved cherrios. This week, I also gave her tiny banana bites.

She gets a puree at breakfast, a yogurt at lunch and then another puree at dinner, followed by the puffs/cheerios/banana while I eat.

I think I need to ramp up the actual food....

  • Congrats!  Im not even at 7 mo yet but already having problems meeting his daily bottle needs.  I have started ramping up the food with our pedi's ok and right now I am sending 12oz to daycare and 2 solid meals as opposed to the 16oz I used to send.  Its been working fine all week.  I barely have anything left in my stash, maybe 30oz and I need that for a weekend away in a month or so.  I have been trying to add to it but the last month has been hard.  I have had 2 pp periods as well.

  • Congratulations!!  Doesn't it feel great to have made it this far?  I've had a very rough road with multiple cases of mastitis, but seeing his chubby little legs and happy smiling face makes it all worth it.  <3
