Fuuck TTC - I'm moving on.
"It's a child, not a cheeto" Thanks mmariluh!
"Ew. I've read all of two posts from you, and you stink like rotting garbage."
I am well aware that many people say to google, which I have done. In my opinion, it is better to hear success stories from women I am familiar with rather than stories or advice I randomly find on google. That is my preference.

I was DX with PCOS in march of 2010 and since then I have cut way back on sugar and carbs, no soda at all, my junk food intake is very little...I have lost 20lbs just by doing that..well and also exercising.

The good thing is that I have been working out for a while and eating better (with some lapses). The most difficult part for me is cutting out sweets. I absolutely love sweets, but I think being diagnosed with PCOS will help me with that. It's must to keep myself at a good weight and for a better chance of becoming pregnant. Thanks for your input!

I was just diagnosed yesterday. He stressed the carbs/sweets HAVE to go. Basically the sweets cause insulin to work too hard which then makes other hormones go wacky. And wacky hormones aren't good for TTC.
I don't remember the book specifically but there is a sugar addict book that I've heard is good. I used to work at a doctors office and one of the MD's there told me if I gave up salt for 90 days my tastebuds would change. She also said you can do that with sugar but it's harder because people crave sweets, it's in a lot, and it takes longer for the buds to change.

Sweets were super hard for me and I still sometimes just crave it and give in just a little..but I have learned to nurish my sugar craving with yogurt, fruits, or sugar free things.
Re: Question for those with PCOS
Doesn't GP say that you have to google everything first?

Hi! I kind of addressed this in your other post about your plan.
But, the #1 thing is carbs. With that, I have cut back and almost eliminated pop. I've lost 12 pounds since December.
There are many PCOS'ers on the Trouble TTC board as well.

Thanks ladies! I really need to focus on cutting out sweets.
