Re: Late Night Ladies...

  • Doing well...very, very tired so won't be up too late tonight.  How are you?  How is your mom?
  • Loading the player...
  • Doing well.  Mom started back to work this week and her appetite is improving.  She sounded pretty tired tonight, but I think that is because of going back to work.

I'm doing pretty good too, overall.  Working on our registry and eating some dinner.

ETA: I replied to your PM too, BTW.  Smile

  • Oh that's good to hear!  I bet this has been a very stressful time on you!  HUGS!

I did see your reply and thank you so much for answering my question!  I think I was just overly concerned since so many people started posting on that topic and I had never even thought about it.  I asked my mom the other day if we have any history of clotting in our family and she couldn't think of anyone with that issue, so I'm hoping that means I'd be okay too :o)  But it's good information to know.

  • Im doing okay would be doing better if I wasnt almost at my milestone and having more cramps start back up. Just makes me nervous but Im assumming its just stretching. How is everyone else doing?

I'm sorry you are having a rough time.  Getting to those milestones is so hard.  ((Big HUGS)).  Make sure you are staying hydrated (being dehydrated will make cramping and stretching pain worse) and if you are really concerned, it wouldn't hurt to call your Dr and see if you can just go in for a quick check.

  • Okay so have something funny to share.

Tonight on our way to dinner I asked DH if he had told his mother yet.  He responded no, but he would later tonight.  About five minutes later he goes, "How far along are you again?  9 weeks?"

    ::Slaps hand to forehead::

Really honey?  Do you think I've been pregnant for 2 months now, some of which I continued to drink for?  I responded,"No...I'm not even 5 weeks". He then says, "I swear you said something about being 9 weeks the other day".

    ::Gives my husband the "look"::

"Honey, I told you that my first appointment would be at 9 weeks".

  • I am doing good overall tonight laying on the couch watching Goldfinger, trying to settle the contractions I am having. Damn grocery shopping, I know they aren't real. Wish they were. While Ian is passed out on the other couch. I just can't make myself move him, he fell asleep watching the movie with his blanket and sippy. If you are on instragram I am BobbiJanay if you want to see his cuteness. Casey is making me move him to bed now, boo.

I'm doing pretty good tonight. A little bit anxious because I've been having a lot of discharge the last couple of days, so even though I know it's Completely.Freaking.Normal...pgal brain makes me go, "Oh noes! What if I'm leaking fluid?" I'm basically just trying to ignore myself, it's working fairly well so far. ;)

Thanks!!! Totally had a freak out like that today. I figure if my panties don't need to be changed I'm probably ok. How are the hedgies?

I think it's time to get a copy of Baby Bargains.

Not really, I wish she did. She had a friend who was battling lymphoma that she was close, to but that friend died. She does have some good friends but no one with cancer. I have tried to get her involved with some local support groups but she's not interested. Moms can be so stubborn!

I know what you mean.  My mom can be crazy stubborn too, but that's a good thing ultimately.  It means they won't give in to the disease either.

My mom was a Stephen Minister at her church for a while.  She was matched with someone that needed a person to talk to and get support from, and she did what she could to give them the one on one support they needed.  Maybe there is something like that that she would be more comfortable with?

Eris, I've been thinking about getting Baby Bargains as well. I'm just undecided because I'm cheap. I went through Lucie's List and added stuff based on their categories, and for anything that was too overwhelming at the moment I have a list of "add later". It worked really well, but I'm kind of stalling out. I also need to pull the trigger and decide *exactly* what I want to register for when it comes to cloth diapers, but for some reason that's freaking me out...so maybe next week I'll try it again, heh.

Ginger, I hope your mom has an awesome birthday. I'm sorry she's still having a hard time, it must be so scary to have that looming over everything she does.

Before settling on one brand of cloth diapers, I would try a few and see what works for you and baby best. We love plain old DSQ prefolds and thirsties covers the best, with happy heinys coming in second. Eris-Alexis yes he was he didn't nap today. By his own choice.

My life has a superb cast but I can't figure out the plot.

That's exactly what I did as well.  I found most of the stuff that isn't gender specific on Lucie's List, but there are some other things that I know we need that weren't on that site and that's where I am getting overwhelmed.

Normally I wouldn't worry about it this early, but Mom wants to have my shower in just over 10 weeks, so now I am getting worried.

We got him changed and in bed, he slept through getting his diaper changed. I can't remember the last time that happened.

So glad your mom is well enough to go back to work, that is great!

    Thanks!  How's your mom doing?

Okay, just hanging in there. She still gets in sad/scared moods and says "I don't know if I'll be here in X number of months/years, etc." every so often but overall she is good. Her birthday is Saturday so we are all glad she's here to celebrate another year.

Glad to hear she's hanging in there, but sad to hear she's saying those things about how long she'll be here.  That has to be scary and stressful for you, too.   Glad you get to celebrate another birthday with her on Saturday though!  That's wonderful!

Thanks! It is but it's just been so long I'm almost getting used to it, as weird as that is. When she was saying she didn't know if she'd be here in another 5 years, my grandma, who is almost 87, was like, "Welcome to the club!" Which weirdly cracked my mom up. Glad the two of them have a sense of humor about it.  Confused

What a huge milestone for your mom! Sounds like your visit was just what she needed Smile.

I'm doing ok... feeling like a slug since I sit on the couch from the time I get home until I go to bed, but not much else is in the cards with my stupid BHs.

I also officially finish residency on Friday and then go on a mini vacay to SC with DH to see my dad. I'm actually excited for a few days of real summer!

Congratulations on finishing your residency.  What field are you in if you don't mind my asking?  My aunt is currently in med school and her husband is in his first year of residency.

I hope you have a great vacation!

My residency was in pediatrics. I'm working as a general pediatrician in 2 county hospitals starting next week... it will be crazy to finally be done training!

My mom's fears used to scare me so much! ((HUGE HUGS)) to you both and happy that she gets to celebrate another year!

I know what you mean.  My dad was diagnosed when I was 7 and mom was first diagnosed when I was 11.  I've grown up with terminal illness, so I don't know any differently.

I'm glad she has a sense of humor about it.  I think that is so important.
