I rarely pump unless I am trying to stock up on my freezer stash. I only use the milk if we are doing errands for awhile and I know I will not have many places to breastfeed. I have done this at least 6 times or more before and never had a problem with my milk. I unthaw it and it looks and smells fine. But today I unthawed some and about an hour in the bottle it begin to separate and "clog" all up almost looking like sour milk. I have no clue why it did this. I smelled it before I poured it in the bottle and it smelled fine. It did not do it right away. At first it was fine, smooth and all. Then I took it out and barely shook it and noticed the clumps. It got worse and worse. I usually unthaw my milk by putting it in the fridge but this time I put it in warm running water cause I was in a hurry. Any ideas what it could be?
Re: Unthawed milk looked odd
just the fat separating. swirl it slightly to mix it up a bit, depending on the fat content mine almost always does that or has a layer of cream on the top.
