Oh my! lol. Sometimes it's best if we don't ask...jk.
Liam, Emery, and Sawyer aren't bad. I've only heard Emery and Sawyer for girls lately though.
Maybe thank him for the list and tell him now you have an idea of where to find middle ground;). Don't pick on him too much...you'll never get another name he approves of!

I agree on Emery and Sawyer...exactly what I was thinking. I didn't criticize his choices...I thanked him for finally putting some thought into it. Now I have to figure out where we go from here... he doesn't like my choices and I don't like his.

It's a strange list because some of the names have a gentle flow (Emmanuel, Liam), while others are fairly aggressive (Taggart, Sven). There's a mix of the girly (Emery), the ethnically-specific (Dieter), the trendy (Bronx) and the classical (Titus). It's hard to pin down his style.
Can you choose three names from this list that you could live with? If so, run them through Nymbler and see what else pops up.
He has two great names mixed in with some real doozies, IMHO. Liam = great!Dieter = A Mike Meyers character on SNL in the early 90s...Sven = ... if you live in Scandinavia it's fine, but if you don't...Stirling = "Sterling" spelled wrong, which itself is a name that tries a bit too hard, I think.Bronx = Wasn't cool before Ashley Simpson and Pete Wentz named their kid it. It's especially not cool after.Taggart= meh. Fine, I guess. Titus = Great!Wyatt = Only if you live on a ranch in real life.Manly = ... are you sh!tting me?Emmanuel = Not my style, but I've heard worse.Emery = GirlySawyer = Not terrible, but not great.Chin up, buttercup. You'll agree on something.
DH has been trying to sell me on Sven for years, since before we even conceived DD. He's very Northern European and I'm very Mediterranean/Semitic, so I keep telling him, "Do I look like a Sven could come out of me?" Of the names on his list, Liam and Titus are okay. The rest are NMS.
DD born 10/10/07 * DS born 11/25/11 * #3 due 3/9/2015
Why don't you both make lists sit down with eachother and cross of those that are definate No's.. compile what is left and keep it on the fridge. Cross them off as you decide against them. when you have 3 left either wait until he is born to pick or just make a decision.
Dieter and Sven aren't too bad, but I tend to like European names. One of my good friends is Hans-Dieter, but he just goes by Hans. Either one would make for a good middle name if you were to compromise there.
Try to sell him on Wesley by using Wes as a nickname? That nickname sounds -- for lack of a better term -- manly.
"I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, I'll go to it laughing."
BTW, I know everyone on this board says Emery/Emerson seem like girls names but my friend's 5 year old son is Emerson- very boyish and so cute, and I have a guy friend named Emery who is HOT!! hehe
I grew up in Minnesota, so I think Sven is okay. And Liam (though too popular for my liking) isn't all that bad.
Umm, here are some recommendations from the North Country (not necessarily all that popular outside of the Upper Midwest): Bjorn, Lars, Hans, Leif (pronounced layf . . . long "a" sound), Franz, Erik, Aaron.
Seriously, though, if I had to classify your husband's style, it would be "macho adventurism".
The names I absolutely dislike are Sven, Dieter, Taggart, Manly, and Emery (for a boy). I like Wyatt, Emmanuel and Sterling and the others are ok just not what I would choose.
My friend just named her son Sterling. Some of the names are a little out there. How about you ask him why he likes each name and see if you can narrow it down to a name you both like?
This goes to show that men pick what they like, and don't overanalyze and worry about trends. We women are all "Oh my god, I can't name my kid Arabelle like I always wanted because it starts with an A and A names are trendy and my cousin's sister's ob/gyn has a kid named Arabelle..."

I like Liam...but we know a couple babies named William and the kid across the street is Liam.
Manly. Little House on the Prairie would be proud.

LOL to Manly.

Manly! HAHAHAHAHA! That is probably the most ill-advised name I've ever seen.
I like Emmanuel. I knew a kid named that; everyone called him E-Man.
I do not blame you for not being happy about that list.
I do like liam and Emmanuel

Wow. What's YOUR style? I like Liam, but I think that's becoming pretty popular. I'm not a fan of the others. Sorry!
My favorites right now are Wesley and Ian. He has said absolute no to Ian and maybe to Wesley but he doesn't really like it.
Manly!!!

Sounds like my DH, not wasting any time discussing names haha 35 weeks....FWIW I like:
Liam
Wyatt
Emery (love)
Sawyer
Wyatt, Liam and Sawyer are nice masculine names (not sure why people use Sawyer for girls). I hear Sterling is becoming trendy.
I think the list has potential.
We're still trying to agree on a name for our baby girl. For me the girl names seem much harder to agree on.

Liam and Sawyer are all I would take from that

Wyatt and Liam aren't too bad. I've never heard some of these though! Too funny!
Actually, I think he really likes Liam, so he followed it up with the craziest names he could think of, so that she would like Liam more.
Eventhough I like Wyatt, I think it's very possible that a man living in Chicago would use it as a joke name.
I LOVE Liam, there others are kinda silly. I can only imagine how poor little Manly would get picked on out on the playground at recess.
