Success after IF

anyone skip rice cereal/oatmeal?

And just go to pureed veggies/fruits?

I'm considering it.   Izzy got really constipated with it.

  • Yep! We've had great success skipping over it. We started with butternut squash, then went to peas, mangos, sweet potatoes and peaches! He loves it and no real constipation problems at all.

  • We skipped cereal, but also skipped purees.  We did baby-led weaning and it has worked out great!

DD had her iron checked at one year and it was perfect, so she did not the supplemental iron in cereal.  I was also worried about constipation.

We did. We started with veggies - orange ones at first. Will still had (has) some issues with constipation (he more has a tough time going than true constipation, but that may be more detail than you want!) even doing that, but I can only imagine what cereal would have done to him!
