Someone gave us one of those plaster handprint kits as a gift. Have you done one of these and what age did you do it? It's so cute I want to open the thing up and do it NOW but I don't think it's practical just yet.
i tried one at 7 weeks. it didn't work out so well. ds curled up his hand and foot that i was trying to mold. you definitely need someone else there to help!
I tried it when DD was about 6 weeks. It was supposed to be a Mother's Day gift for the Grandmas. It didn't work very well so we made one of her foot instead.
If you have the kit from BRU, it's total junk. Someone got it for us as a gift when DD was born and the impression material was so dry and hard, DD actually screamed and cried when we tried to press her foot into it.
Go to the craft store and get Crayola Model Magic. It's the same thing but it's much easier to work with and out of 1 packet I was able to do 1 footprint and 1 handprint (you can see them in the nursery pics in my bio hanging on the wall.) It was so much softer and we were able to press hard enough to get a great impression on the first try. I did them when she was 2 months old but would have been able to do it sooner if I would have bought it earlier.
hehe... I got it out to read it and realized it's for a handprint with ink...
so I'm going to do it first chance I get
I forgot to get an inkpad from the hospital for my baby book prints anyway, so now I have one! They will footprint in your book for you except when you deliver in the OR.. which I did.
