Did you get the stabilizer part when it was recalled? And if so, did it make the crib as safe as a stationary crib?
I have a woman who is willing to sell a brand new crib + mattress for $100 (it was used in a model home/mock nursery) and apparently all I'd have to do is order the stabilizer piece....I'm just wondering though about the safety with the replaced piece intact.
TIA
Re: If you had a drop-side crib...
I have an iron crib that was Emerson's that is drop-side. When I found out that I was having twins I bought the exact same crib and it wasn't drop-side so I had two cribs that were matching.
I never got the stabilizer because in all the years it has been up, it has never been put down and hasn't budged.
If the crib hasn't ever been used, I would go ahead and buy it and add the stabilizer. This is one of those things you just have to trust your intuition on....
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
This exactly. We have 2 different cribs (similar styles but different makers) and only one has a stabilizer piece. I have them both with the drop sides turned to the wall. At my mom's I have one with a drop side but I didn't bother to call for a stabilizer.
