Northport OBGYNs?

I am more than likely about to be moving from around Birmingham to Northport (FI got a much better paying job out that way.). Anyway, any OBGYN practices anyone would recommend in the area? TIA!

DCH in Northport has some great OBs. My cousin is one of the nurses that works with them, she's been there over 20 years. I don't remember all the doc's names but I can get them if you are interested.

I went to Dr. Avery at Capstone Medical (on the University's campus). I loved him. Dr. Reed in that practice is good as well (he delivered me and my brother 27+ yrs ago).

I don't go to an OBGYN in Northport, but Northport is basically only a few miles from DCH Regional in Tuscaloosa... all the same area.

I go to Partlow Harbin and Poist in the DCH Towers. I highly recommend my OB, Dr. Ray. She is awesome... she was there for me through my pregnancy with DD, held my hand and gave me hugs when I had a m/c last summer, and then after my neighborhood got hit by the tornado in April she was one of the first people to call me to see how I was doing.

I highly recommend her.

I use Dr. Jennifer Bolton, and I looooove her. She is in a private practice, so she usually has a waiting list. I think I waited about three months for an appointment last year. But the nice thing is knowing that she will deliver your baby, not some other doctor you've never met. And she spent a TON of time with me in the delivery room. PM me if you want specifics about her. She's also very natural-birth friendly but not pushy about it in the least.

I go to the Northport facility. My husband and I just moved to the area about a year ago so I had to ask around to find a dr. I use Dr. Myron Chwe at the Northport Hospital (his name is pronounced like Che). I love him. He is super nice and is very soft spoken. There are several other docs. in his practice, I have heard good things about all of them.

I agree with an earlier post?. Northport is combined with Tuscaloosa?. I go to Partlow Harbin & Poist at the DCH Medical Tower also. However, my doctor is Charles Mentel. HE IS WONDERFUL! My husband and I both feel absolutely comfortable talking to him about anything. Plus he knows either of us if he sees us out in public and I like that. It makes me feel like I?m not just another patient. He?s younger and can relate to how I think about things and even humors me when I?m a nut. He?ll deliver my first baby in a couple of months but has delivered three for friends of mine thus far and has gotten nothing but good references. Hope your move works out well!
