Recently I have been trying to find a new church. I have tried a couple different churches in town, but haven't found any that I really like. So on facebook, I asked if anyone could recommend a good church located in my city.
I just got a long rambling message from a girl I went to high school with (she lives in Utah now), telling me about how great the Mormon church is and if I am interested she can help me get in contact with some church representatives.
I really don't want to ignore the message, but I don't know how to respond other than "There is no way in hell that I am going to start going to a Mormon church", but that is a little blunt.
Re: I don't know how to respond to this.(kind of long)
When you asked on facebook did you specify a denomination?
If not, I would just message her back and say "Thank you for the offer, but I am looking for a Christian/Catholic/whatever Church" and just leave it at that.
If you were specific when asking on FB, I would just ignore her message if you are not really friends.
I would just say "thanks for the information and the offer but I was looking for a church in my current faith"

This sounds great.
I think I will say something like that. I was raised Baptist, so I am really open to anything similar to that. I guess I should have specified a denomination. I just was surprised she responded, we don't even live in the same country anymore.

We were raised Southern Baptist. My brother converted to Presperterian (sp?) and loves it. He loves everything about it and its beliefs. If you aren't finding the right fit maybe try another faith church and see if you get the feel you are looking for.
As far as what to say everyone covered it lovely.
Because the LDS church has many teachings that I do not agree with. I'll just leave it at that.
