Baby Tent Bed?

My husband and I are taking a trip to Big Bend National Park in November. We are camping out for a week and wonered about sleeping arrangements for our baby boy who will in November be 9 months old.

I bought a baby camp bed/tent that we will put into our tent for him to sleep at night.

Does anyone have any experience with this type of recreation and a baby?? I want to make sure that this will be safe for our little boy.

When we take ladybug camping, she usually sleeps with myself or DH in our sleeping bag. One of the adults always sleeps in front of the door (to investigate strange sounds and make sure we dont get visited by a bear or moose) and backpacks are left outside the tent so there isnt anything a baby can get into. Plus, sleeping outside can be colder and our body heat helps regulate her body heat.
