camping/rocking

LO normally won't nurse to sleep. I nurse her then we rock, anyway we plan on going camping and their is no rocking chair. Any suggestions? I was thinking if she doesn't fall asleep I can put her in the ergo and take a walk that should work.:) Just looking to see if anyone else has any thought. TIA

    The first camping trip I tried, DD wouldn't sleep.  I brought a bouncer, but no luck.  She won't go to sleep in a carrier, or when it's light out, so we had to go home.  I'm trying again this year. :)

    When DS first starting taking naps in his bed by himself, I had good luck laying next to him (he had a floor bed), snuggling him close, and kind of rocking him while laying him on my side until he fell asleep.

    I second the yoga ball.  Ace is a rock to sleep guy and we recently visited my parents in Ohio.  They didn't have a rocker.  I bounced on a yoga ball for a few minutes and he fell right to sleep.  It actually worked better than the rocker!

    But, back to the post. My friend did the ball for her child too. It helps your posture as well because it works your core muscles. :-) Good luck!

    Last year we actually bought a fold up rocking chair at an outdoors store before our week-long camping trip Embarrassed

    I am very glad we did- we were at the worst stage of getting to sleep EVAR- the nursing doesn't work until daddy rocks while screaming and then just maybe and nothing else has a chance of working stage.  That *** was brutal.
