It is completely unnecessary to make a new post every day about what CD you are on or what phantom symptoms you are having. THAT IS WHAT THE WAITING TO O AND 2WW POSTS ARE FOR!!!!!
Also, fishing is lame.

You have a point. Maybe these AEs aren't so bad...

At the risk of being snarked, I have a question: Can somebody tell me what are the appropriate things to post about on this board? I was on the GP board back when we were TTC #1 and it seems the rules have changed a bit for TTGP. Back then, folks were free to post about their symptoms, fears, successes etc. whenever they pleased. But now, should posters stay away from creating new topics and only post into regularly scheduled topic threads?
Thanks.

There are no official rules (although one grad made an awesome list somewhere -- linky anyone?). But use common sense. There are places to talk about cd 1, and I am never going to O and phantoms. It gets old fast to have 50 million new threads pop up constantly with no relevance.
Also -- fishing is just plain obnoxious. No matter how pretty your chart is or how sore your boobs are it does not mean you get to post something in the hopes of getting a "SQUEEE omfg you are so ktfu lolz". If you want to know, pee on something.

Not necessarily. Just use common sense. Read the page to see if your answer/issue has been addressed recently, etc.

Thanks. I totally understand using common sense when you are posting so that you aren't constantly repeating threads--but, if there aren't official rules against it, who am I to get aggravated if someone wants to post about their CD1 or their 1st time TTC, etc? TTC is really one of the most uncertain and exciting times of a woman's life, so why would I begrudge them the opportunity to express their feelings in a public forum? For example, I totally made the faux pas of posting a "faint line" post last year. I knew a faint line meant I was pregnant, but when so much rides on that faint line you second, third and fourth-guess yourself. Luckily, the ladies on GP were supportive and didn't send me mountains of F You's. (Of course, drive-by's are annoying--but the newbie link is so tiny at the top of the forum that it is understandable that folks miss it and just post in their utter excitement.)
That said, I know that a lot of people use these message boards as a form of entertainment and that it is my choice to partake or not to partake. But, maybe the Bump mods should create a Snarky and TTC board as well? And, maybe the newbie link should be clearer and larger? What do you think, Princesses? Or, is it just too much fun to be on this board?

Yes, because that's what the bump needs, MORE boards instead of working on silly little things like the search function. I've been here on and off for over a year and the board hasn't changed and it's not going to. There are some women here for pure entertainment, there are others here for support. You basically have to decide if it's the place for you based on lurking and if it's not, that's understandable but all of these "omg you guys are so mean" posts are really annoying and not accomplishing anything except getting yourself (the general "you") flamed.

There might not be specific rules -- but there is one over arching rule with every message board evar. Lurk first, post later. If people lurked they would figure it out. Therefore I will absolutely be irked when people are dumb. Lurk. Get to know a place and its people. Don't walk in and start shouting stupid things and expect us to be nice.

That's a really great alternative, actually. The search function is definitely not very reliable. And, I hear you on there being a million and one boards.
I'm not being snarky either or trying to cause a bump fight. I was just wondering if there is a way that folks won't have to get so annoyed by newbie posts. Maybe the updated search function will help.

If another board should be made (which I agree is unnecessary), they should add an "Oh sh!t, I think I'm accidentally KTFU with my 7th welfare child, here are my symptoms, what do you think, TIA" board.

What a hateful thing to say. You my dear are just as much of a b?tch as you accuse these ladies of being. You hide behind your sanctimonious "omg you guys are so mean" statements and then go on to say some of the most hurtful things I have ever seen on TB. For the record, IF doesn't confine itself to those who are mean, or else you would be dealing with it and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

TTGP is like a waiting room for nice girls. It's a prison for the rest of you.

What? Gonna shiv me? BTW, were you the one who posted the other day that your heart was "literally" breaking? I hope you're not an English teacher. FFS. Literally. See a cardiologist.
I am an English teacher. I guess I should teach you all about hyperboles. Or similes. Here's one: You're as dumb as a rock.

I will cut a you.
FFS, just wait it out or POAS instead of asking on TB what we think your symptoms can mean!
TTC since 2010
lots of IUIs and 1 IVF all BFNs
FET currently on hold
Literally.
