on the other boards. It is all about their kid doing "it" first. There was a gal that said her LO stopped using a bottle at 9 months. I had not even given M a sippy cup at 9 months. I really think it does not matter if it is good for LO or not, just that your Snowflake did it before anyone else's little Snowflakes.

I ignore those posts now, but I was fascinated/obsessed with them when M was younger. It's totally about one-upsmanship and bragging about arbitrary stuff.And if you're not bragging you're terrified that your kid is behind.

Sometimes I read posts like the 9 mo. sippy cup wonder child and wonder where all the regular moms and babies are around here. Seems everyone's snowflake is CLEARLY gifted 'cept mine.

Most of you guys are relatively new moms (even here at Parenting > 35). I have been listening to other people brag about their children for 21 years. In my experience, it absolutely doesn't matter what the LOs do or don't do at 9 months, when it comes to how well they are adjusted during their teen years and later.

I only open the ones that seem especially stupid. Or there could be a flame war. It is like watching a car wreck. You want to look away but you just can't.
