morrighan said hi at three months two days. awesome i know she was trying so hard to talk lol. but shes not quite four months yet and says hi, yeah, no, hey you, how are you?, and is woeking on saying mommy. anyone else haing fun with talking little ones?

I swear Jake says "I gooooooooooooood." I know he's not really saying it, but he is a talker. We talk, babble, and laugh. Right now he's in his chair grabbing his foot and talking to it. Lord...I wish I could grab my foot and stick it up to my mouth. Noooo...I'm not attempting to do that right now as I write this out. lol

My DS makes the mama sound and sometimes it really seems like he's using it appropriately. Other times it really sounds like he is saying yeah when I ask him a question.

It's normal for babies to sound like they're saying actual words even when they're not.

Yeah, I really don't think your baby is actually 'saying' those words, just babbling in such a way that it might sound like those words (with either a lot or a little imagination). It will take a loooooong loooong time before you will hear actual words from her.

Stella is right now mostly 'gargling' haha ... grrrrnnnn grrr and ooohs and aaahs a whole lot. Wide toothless smiles and cute little giggles ... and she's ahead in her development according to our doctor.

It sounds like you're a little impatient with seeing your baby grow up. It's very common and I see it a lot, especially in first-time mommas, but remember, they're babies only for such a short time! When they're big, you're going to spend a lot of time wishing they were that cute and little again ... Wink

E babbles and chats when he's happy, but when he's ready to eat I swear he says "MAAAAAMAAAAAAAAAMAAAAAAAAA!". My DH always follows this with "MAAA! The meatloaf!!" from Wedding Crashers.

I'm sorry but I don't think your LO is actually talking. She might be saying things that sound like words, but she has no clue, so that doesn't really count. Until they can say words on purpose, it doesn't count...which should start happening around a year old.

I agree with MrsBMW but our pedi said your LO should have at least said their first few words by 9 months.

Ohh and we say "maaa the meatloaf" after DS babbles too Smile

im alittle dissapointed that some of yall are being downers but here let me clarify when she says them when she says hi its right after a nap i dont tell her hi first she smiles and says hi and then i tell her hi. whe she is done eating i ask her if it was good and she says yeah. i can see how how are you would just kinda sound like it sure ill give ya that one. when dh puts on her jammies he goes are you ready? and she either says yeah or no more often no. and when i cook dinner and she is watching me she says hey you and i come over she giggles then says hi. i think she is talking and its very clear how she says it. my brother sister and i were all talking at four months. jeepers.

This is too funny. No one is being a downer just stating facts. Your little one is not talking. She will in due time. I also imagine that when I ask Ava a question and she babbles something that sounds close to a real word that she understands me and is answering me, but I know for a fact that she can't yet.

ya, my son does the same thing as my pug in regards to "talking." I can get both of them to mimic what I say. They both say "hi" if I say it to them a few times, along with other words and short phrases. I even got the dog to say "i love you" after I saw the talking pug on tv. But I know they aren't actually conversing

In OPs defense, this is the first step in learning how to talk (parroting).
