Is anyone taking or planning on taking Gymboree or other classes with your baby? When are you starting?

Re: Gymboree or other baby classes

  • We have no classes like this in my area, but when we move in the spring I plan to register for some. I used to take two of the babies I nannied for and we all had a good time. If they were available here, I would be starting as soon as I could. It is a great way to meet other moms!

  • My library offers different classes for different ages. I'm going to sign up for the tummy time class which is from 8 weeks on. Then at 4 months  they have a mother goose group that reads stories and stuff....sounds really cute and like pp a great way to meet other moms!

I never thought about Gymboree...I'm going to check it out thanks!

I'm staying home with DS, so I've already started some classes.  A local swim school offers free "lessons" for the first six months of life.  It's awesome!  We do that on Tuesdays, then I'm planning on attending an infant class at the library on Wednesdays.  On Fridays I'm signing up for a "babies only" class through Music Together (it's a national program).  I used to nanny for an infant and we took the Music Together classes.  It was amazing how much he enjoyed it, even as a baby.  I've attended Gymboree classes as a nanny and based on our experience, I wouldn't spend the money on classes until LO is at least crawling.  Another thing I'm doing is joining my local MOMS Club chapter.  It's a group of SAHM that all live in the area.  They do play groups, outings, parents night out, charity events, babysitting co-ops, etc.  I recommend looking them up as well since it is international.

I'm doing a 'fun with babies' program at my Ontario Early Years Centre. It's an hour long, once a week, for 6 weeks. I'm looking forward to it. There's also an infant massage course I'd love to get into but it isn't offered again until September.

It's really nice because it's free!
