I wish I was one of those people...

Who loved to exercise.  But really I just hate it.  I hate some forms more than others (running is as fun as a trip to the dentist, for instance), but even the workouts I "like" (yoga, for instance) - I wouldn't choose to do if it wasn't helping with my health and fitness.  I can think of 8000 things I would rather do.  And yes, I know its 30 minutes of my day, but it sucks.  Really really sucks.

You endorphine loving exercise junkies are getting the giant middle finger from me today.  Lucky b*stards.

Vent over.

I always say the worst part of working out is putting my sneakers on. I hate it!!! I hate checking in at the gym, I hate the first 10 minutes of any sort of work out!

But I have to admit, the last 5-10 minutes of a good run I usually enjoy(maybe it's because I know I am close to the end) and I LOVE the feeling I have when I come home all sweaty from a good workout!

Yet, I am with you, I so wish I could run 5 miles and just love every minute of it!!

  • I'm so with you on this!!! I keep hearing that once you get into a routine and do it for a long while, you actually start to enjoy it. I'm not so sure that's possible - but I'm hoping it is. I've gotta tone up, so I'll have to stick with it. My goal and true hope is to actually start enjoying it. I'm not holding my breath, though.

DH is one of these people. He's also one of those people who has a naturally high metabolism and doesn't HAVE to work out and won't gain an ounce. Darn him.

Let's hope DD got his genes in that department..

THIS, 100%.  I never get that "runner's high" ever and always feel starving and exhausted after working out.  HATE IT.

  • I am with you guys. I hate exercising, but I know it's good for me... blah. The only thing that I 'enjoy' is a class. I like the music, and that there are other people doing it, it doesn't even really matter what kind of class, just as long as there is upbeat music and someone telling me what to do. Oh, and I love to swim, but that doesn't count to me, as exercise.

  • Water aerobics was the one form of exercise I could tolerate, but they are moving my office while I'm on maternity leave from the campus with a pool and gym (and free classes) to downtown Portland with no facilities at all.  There are yoga classes in the conference room at lunch, so I might try that.

  • i hear ya loud and clear! i HATE exercise! but...i found a place called koko fit club that i am going to start in august. it's 30 minutes, the workouts are pre planned and each "phase" is 24 workouts or 8 weeks. i figure i can handle 30 minutes of someone else telling me what to do. the workouts are on a flashdrive that you put into the little machine with a screen that is attached to the exercise machine and ther are only 5 machines in the place. so there aren't a bunch of half naked, awesome looking girls walking around making me feel like crap. :-) i'm actually quite excited about it.
