Is a solid wood crib important?

Are most cribs solid wood?  Costco has a Cafe Kid crib that feels pretty darn sturdy and looks really nice.  I like a lot of cribs online but I hesitate to make this purchase without seeing it in person.

Just thought I'd get some feedback on this on whether you think solid wood is important or not.

Re: Is a solid wood crib important?

  • I really like solid wood. It's easy to clean and take care of and seems to be more sturdy than metal. (I've seen some metal cribs buckle under pressure.) Also wood lasts longer than metal or plastic and you don't run the risk of rusting or cracking.
