Is the Bugaboo Cameleon worth it??

Hey Ladies,

So a family friend really wants to throw me a shower where everyone pitches in some money and they put it towards 1 big gift i.e. a stroller. I have been researching strollers and love the Bugaboo Cameleon but im wondering if its actually worth its price tag? We really need something that is rugged and will stand up to the rough terrain of our farm. Please let me know if you have any experience with this stroller or other Bugaboo products, and if not, is there one you would recommend?? Hope you all had great weekends!

  • Honestly, if you have a lot of rugged terrain you will be going over, I'd recommend a BOB jogging stroller.  The tires are inflated and it has amazing shocks to handle the terrain.  The Bugaboo isn't worth the price, IMO.

  • According to Baby Bargains, it's not worth the money for a bunch of reasons.  We went with the UppaBaby Vista instead. I second the pp who suggested the BOB Revolution for rugged conditions.

  • I bought a used Bugaboo off CL and love it more than my BOB by a landslide.
  • Ours has been amazing. I've taken it on all kinds of terrain, even a sandy beach. It can seem a little tippy going over big rocks or on really uneven surfaces though. It works great a s a jogging stroller too.

I know a lot of people who like the BOBs, but I'm not sure if you can put an infant in them. When DD was really little I used ours as a bassinet and would just wheel her around the house as needed.

We found our Cameleon on Albee Baby at a good price because it was an older model.  My biggest complaint is that there isn't really a good way to use it for two kids. That would have been a helpful feature.

  • I personally really wanted the cameleon. We were debating between that, the Uppa Baby Vista and the Britax B-Ready. The second I found out I was pregnant the stroller was the first thing we started to look at. It took 3 months before finally buying one. I loved the style and how easy it was to use the cameleon ie folding and etc. But me being 4'11 I didn't like the way the vista and cameleon's handles pulled out instead of moving up or down. So we unded up going with the Britax since the handles was more comfortable for me. Now if only the baby will come so I can take it out of the box!
