Starting to think about buying our convertible car seats for once our DS outgrows the infant seat in a few months. Anyone have advice on where to get the best price or is their a certain time when great sales take place? Should I wait for a BRU trade in event or is amazon always cheapest, etc. Looking at Britax, Graco MyRide, and Evenflo brands. Thanks.
Re: Best time/deals for car seat purchase.
Unfortunately it is a day late but Target had the Britax Roundabout on sale yesterday for black friday in july for $100. Everyone I know sisters and friends all reccomend the Britax.
I've heard that there are often Britax sales in August but I think Amazon and Albeebaby.com have good prices fairly often on them.
BRU recently had closeouts on a lot of seats (some up to 75% off) but I don't know how many times/year they do that!
The car seat we plan on getting is $50 cheaper on Amazon than at BRU. I found this website:
www.camelcamelcamel.com
You can search for anything that Amazon sells and it shows you pricing trends so you know if you're getting a good deal or not. You can also sign up for alerts and it will email you when the item you want goes below your target price.
Just bought the britax advocate 70 CS on amazon.com for 24% or 28% off (I saved $90-I just can't remember if the pattern I bought was 24 or 28% off, I was torn between two). It was cheaper than diapers.com (that is having 20% off them now) and cheaper than BRU with a 20% coupon. We won't start using it for a few more weeks, but DS is near the height limit, and since so many places had them on sale I didn't want to wait in case prices went back up in a week or so.
So no, I don't know when the sales take place, but it seems like it could be now, since target, amazon, and diapers.com have britax on sale (if thats the seat you are looking for). I will say the reviews say the seats are large, not an issue for us because we have an SUV, but something to think about when you buy. Not sure if all Britax are huge though.
