So we all survived the first Party with Other Children as Guests. I was pleasantly surprised by how nicely both Elizabeth and William were sharing their toys with their friends (much more nicely than they share with each other, mind you!)
Ever since we got back from the U.K., they have had a wild obsession with the Royal Guards, so I ran with that and did a British-themed party. It seemed to be fun for both the kids and the adults; the best part was watching the kids have parades around the house with various musical instruments, doll strollers and toy wagons, and the two Royal Guard hats we brought back with us.
I'm definitely sticking with the "you can each invite one friend" rule for now. Elizabeth sort of got a two-for-one since the friend she wanted to invite has a sister who's also close to her age, and another couple we invited has a one-year-old, but six kids under six in the house was plenty.
I can't believe I made it -- no longer 2 under 2!
Re: "Play date on steroids" (a.k.a. E&W's joint party)
The simple idea of 2 under 2 makes my head spin! Happy Birthday E&W! And congrats mama for surviving it all :-)
YAY! Congrats on making it through 2 under 2!
I love your party theme idea! So cool!
This inspires me because we will likely be doing joint parties since our kids' b-days are 4 days apart. This year we are taking the easy way out though, and going to Disney
