i'm a little bit alarmed. i was always a naturally thin person & i don't feel like i've been over-eating at all so far. i am only 18 weeks & so far i have gained 15 pounds & my belly has grown 9 inches?
anyone else? i felt like i was going to cry when i took those measurements for my pregnancy book.
Re: weight gain & belly growth so far
I'm pretty sure 15lbs is nothing unusual, especially at 18 weeks. I had my last appointment at 15 weeks and had gained 5lbs but I've grown quite a bit since then.
Don't stress, just keep eating healthily and get regular moderate exercise.

I'm a short person (only 5 ft tall) so there's only one way for belly to go... out.
I'm 15 weeks today, and between my june appt, and my july appt (where I was 13 weeks 3 days) I had only put on 3 pounds. They didn't measure my belly the last appt. but it's def. bigger. DH and I notice it and my co-workers have started to notice too.
I feel like I haven't put on enough weight at all... it makes me nervous. But the doc said everything was ok last appt. so I guess I shouldn't worry.
I'm figuring by the time I hit 18 it'll go up more...
I wouldn't worry about it though! I'm sure everything is as it should be!
This reality just hit me yesterday...
I went to the emergency med clinic (unrelated to the baby) and when I stepped on their scale I almost cried! Prebaby I was a size 5 and about 138... yesterday I was 152 and I cant fit in size 8 pants, I'm already in maternity clothing and I'm only 16weeks5days! In my first tri I was eating healthy snacks every hour/hour and a half because if I didnt I would get really sick feeling. Now that I am in the second tri I can go a few hours, say 3-4 without eating, but I still try to stick to healthy foods. Fruits, nuts, protiens.... very little chips/sweets and I try not to eat out... I just have no idea where it is all coming from.
Last night when I got home, I told my husband that at 6 months my doctor is gonna be like well sorry but you have to starve yourself for the rest of the pregnancy bc you have already gained all the weight you should. LOL. I'm trying not to make a big deal about it till I see/talk to my doctor on my next appointment... so we'll see.
Maybe I'll take up more exercising...
