Knitters who've done short rows with Linen Stitch

So I can't figure this out. I was making some longies in linen stitch and ended up ripping it all out because it got messed up when I tried to add short rows. The tutorial I have is for regular knitting in the round and I'm trying to do these in the round as well.

Thanks

  • I haven't done linen stitch, but here's a link with some info

I'm glad you asked this question, it reminded me to look up the Kitchner stitch, which I have seriously been struggling with.

  • I don't do short rows I just add a few stitches to make them wider in the hips and then you'll have to add a few rows for the rise.  Also remember that linen stitch is not as stretchy as a traditional stitch.

this was what I was going to do on my next attempt. Man I hate short rows I always end up with a hole on the one side.

This is what always happens to me.

When you get to the final stitch of the short row (where you moved the yarn back and forth before starting the sr), you need to knit through the loop the back and forth made AND the stitch you slipped.

    I hope that makes sense.

I always forget and end up with holes and can't figure out what I've done wrong, and then remember haha
