    We just recently told our IL's about everything going on and our upcoming IUI.  We asked my MIL (who has a huge mouth!) not to tell anyone.  She ended up telling my SIL (I was pissed - but that's a whole other story).  We planned on telling her anyway, but in person, since she went through treatments as well and had her two kids through IVF.

    Anyway... I get a text from my SIL saying, "I heard the good news and I'm so happy for you guys"..... first of all, why would you talk to me about this through a text and second, why is infertility "good" and something to be happy about?!  Maybe it's not that big of a deal and I know she really does mean well, but come on!  Especially coming from someone who went through this all.

    If your MIL is anywhere near as crazy as mine, she probably told your SIL that you are KU already instead of that you are going for an IUI.   

    Trust me, I wouldn't put it past her!

    "You're still young" Who cares how old I am I've had baby rabies since I was 23, thought I would have baby number one when I was 25, now here I am 27 still no baby and pretty damn upset about it!

    Baby rabies- I love it.  That you're still young is such a stupid comment! Especially since it only gets harder the older you get.  Why are people so stupid?

    My mom: Just play some Barry White! (last time I checked, he didn't have any effect on morphology).

     Various: It will all be sooo worth it! (um, I have always known it would be worth it and don't need over 2 years of IF to confirm it).

    My favorite, also from various: Relax! (oh, if only that were true, we would have had millions of vacay babies!!!)

    I haven't been told this lately but I was told once that I was "so luck to not have to deal with m/s and such."

     I wanted to punch the self-pitying look off her face. I get it that she was miserable and I know no one enjoys feeling that way but her comment was especially rude since she knew all about our IF struggles.

    Baby rabies- I love it.  That you're still young is such a stupid comment! Especially since it only gets harder the older you get.  Why are people so stupid? 

    Yeah no kidding! Ugh! Some people....

    OMG! Don't you just hate MIL's? Sounds like something mine would say! 

    Suddenly they all become doctors. Nothing like heaping the blame. I fear mine saying something ridiculous like that if/when she finds out. My ILs won't get it.

    Yeah you know the whole "just adopt and you will get pregnant" crap line.  Well I get that one ALL THE TIME.....because it happened to my step-sister.  She adopted a baby boy and then found out she was pregnant when he was 3 months old.  Talk about a shot to the gut.

    She did Clomid + TI for a few rounds and one of IUI, but decided to move on.  I mean I was happy for her, but it was rough and people bring it up all the time.  :(

    This is so par for the course for her that I didn't even bat an eyelash.
