I have a RCS scheduled for July 27th- if I make it that far.
On Monday, July 18th...I have an appointment at my OB for a pre-op examination.
Does anyone know just what this entails?
I should have thought more about it before and I'll call my doctor tomorrow, but I was curious tonight.
I already had a 5 min. talk with the anesthesiologist and go in 2 hours early on the day of the c-section, so I'm just wondering what this will be.....maybe just talking about the procedure?
Re: Pre-op examination for c-section
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,and He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Thank you!!
And to OP, it is my understanding they don't do any internal exams before a Csection, as there isn't much of a point for it... My doctor explained what to expect, when to start fasting, and to wash with a special soap (Hibicleanse). Everything was written down for me too.
I called them today and they said it should just be signing and discussing and directions and then basic appointment things like BP and urine sample and fundal checks.
She didn't think there would be an internal exam since it is for a c-section and there definitely wouldn't be blood work since they wait to do that till the morning of the surgery.
