How long is everyone planning on working? I was planning on having my last day at work be Oct 9 and due Oct 19. I work about an hour from home and didnt want to be driving home in NY rush hour traffic in labor! How about everyone else?

I'm due Oct.25th and just figured I would work until then or I go into labor...
I still have to discuss my maternity leave with my bosses... I work for a REALLY small company and there isn't any maternity leave policy in place (only 4 employee's besides 2 managing patrners).
If you provide a note from your doctor, your company is required to let you begin your leave at that time. My midwife will be providing in writing that it isnt safe for me to be that far from the hospital so close to my due date and that I have to work from home. The company cannot argue with that. If your doctor can provide documentation like that and you're able to work from home, or you dont mind starting your leave a week'ish early I would seriously consider this!

They don't have to give you pay (through disability) though if you don't have a medical reason. Something to think about.
I will be working until baby comes. I kind of hope he is a few days late (even though I will not be thinking this in the end). If baby boy is a few days later, I will have full paid leave until January 2nd. I work at a college and have 1 week off for Thanksgiving and 2 weeks off for Christmas.
If LO comes early, I will be back to work on or around December 5th. A whole month more sounds much better to me!
I am taking off at 36w. Maybe even 35w. I'm in Canada, though, so with a week's vacation, taking off early means I will still have around 11 mos mat leave (and I am sure my job would let me take a 12th month unpaid before returning).
Wish it could be sooner, to be honest. I'm exhausted, uncomfortable 24/7 and lacking in focus already.
