Baby sugar water?

When DS was leaving the NICU the nurse that was giving him his shots had me dip his paci in some baby sugar water to calm him after the shots. It' calmed him right down. Anybody else get this?

It was funny, when I asked what it was. She told me and then said. "Its not something that you should use all the time!" Dur! Really lady?

A pervious post made me think of it and I was just wondering if anyone else's baby was given this stuff.

    I just got off the phone with the pedi regarding DD being constipated and he suggested that I feed her 4oz of brown sugar water for the next few days. I've never heard of this before today, so it's funny that you mention it.

    I just posted about this below. Marino had sugar water before a stomach u/s and he was in heaven. The ob also gave him sugarwater before his circ....

    The nurse at the hospital gave him some the first time we were trying to BF and he wouldn't open his mouth. Don't know that it did any good. They sent us home with a bottle of it, but I can't imagine I'll have a use for it.
