Brown spot on sclera (white) of eye

Dr. Google has me super duper confused. I noticed DS has a brown spot on the white of his eye closest to his nose. I thought at first it might be a busted blood vessel which concerned me a little (why would he be straining to cause one) but then I realized by shape and color it's definitely a spot so I Dr. Google it. It says it's common in people with darker skin pigmentation. I'm 1/8th Native and while my father looks pretty much 100% Native, I look super pasty white, as does my son. Could it be from that tiny remaining genetic factor? Anyone know anything about it? I read it could also be like a freckle? Oh Dr. Google how you mess with me

    Ive heard of people that have a little freckle on their eye, that would be my guess. Unless he acts like it's bothering him its probably nothing.

    DS has definitely had a burst blood vessel in his eye, my guess is from straining against the swaddle before we stopped it.

     

    However, I agree w/ PP. If it doesn't bother him, then don't worry about it. 

    Baby Boy Born 3.15.11. 8lb 9oz, 21.75in. 6 month stats: 20lb 11oz (92%tile), 30.12in.(100%tile - who knew it went over 99th? Which means 100% of other 6 month olds are shorter than mine!)

    My DH has a freckle on his eye, the eye Dr. said to keep an eye on it and see if it changes. DH also has a darker skin pigmentation. I would ask your pedi the next time you see him. Also, maybe see if you can get a good pic of it so that you can reference it? I swear everything I see that "could" be something on DD I Dr. Google it and then it messes with my head.

    I've got one and I'm italian :) opthamologist told me it's the equivalent of a freckle.
