Mini work-related vent(I swear I'll try to keep to the mini part)

I've said this before so I'm sure it is old news for some of you but I'm a swim coach. Well I have this mom of a swimmer who WILL NOT leave me alone! She seriously calls me at least twice a day! I'm not even sure how this crazy got my number. I almost never answer her calls because a) she is crazy and therefore the reasons that she calls me are usually crazy also and b) because I HAVE A BABY and don't have time to be chatting away on the phone all day! Most of the parents on the team know that if they need to get a hold of me that I am really good about responding to emails quickly or that I will text them back. Apparently this one can't get the hint even after me not returning at least a dozen phone calls and voicemails of hers Angry

She just called me (at 9:30 mind you) and left a voicemail--because once again I didn't pick up--to tell me that unless she hears from me beforehand, she will see me at the pool tomorrow morning. Really?! You mean that just like every other day of the week you will see me at the regularly scheduled practice time?!?

Okay, I feel better now that I got that out there but I have to share one more crazy story about this lady. We had a team picture day last Friday. Practice starts at 8 am and they are notoriously late because they "aren't morning people". Well we got everyone organized and took the team picture around 8:15, they showed up about 8:40 and were furious that they missed the team picture. Actually I should say they were shocked and furious. So furious that they threatened to leave and not get their individual pictures taken--to which I said that if that's what they wanted to do they were more than welcome to leave. Fine so you're not morning people (I haven't broken it to them that they probably picked the wrong sport) but that doesn't mean that we are going to hold up everything until you decide to grace us with your presence. Seriously, can you say nut case?!?

    I told my girls AND parents that any calls past 7:30pm I will probably not answer. It's my family time and unless it's an emergency, call me the next morning or afternoon. They can text me and I probably will respond, but I may not. They are aware of it now, and totally respect it. Also, whenever my girls are late REGARDLESS of who's fault it is(if the parent was late,etc.) the whole team runs laps. It not only teaches the girls that they need to plan ahead, but teaches the parents that my time is important as well...

    Yeah, I've never had issues before with parents calling me late--I think most of them have enough common courtesy not to--but we definitely will be addressing it at a meeting we have coming up. I also penalize them for being late, they earn "money" for coming to practice and if they are more than 10-15 mins late I dock them for the day.

    I'd let them in on the lil' secret that they're in the wrong sport or at the very least the wrong season. I only swam during the school year because I'm not a morning person and practice was always after school as were meets. I'd tell her today that with the new baby you just can't answer your phone, email me or talk to me at practice. Nutso lady!

    I like how she was going to leave and not take the individual shots...like she's punishing you! No, your poor child is the one that will suffer here. Weirdo!

    They are def in the wrong sport! Haha! I swam for many years and remember many early morning practices! What a nutcase!

    Is she calling you from her cell phone? Next time she calls you should text her back and say, "sorry, I'm putting my baby to sleep, I'll talk to you at practice tomorrow". Maybe that will make her feel bad for calling you. Then again, this lady seems pretty dense, she probably wouldn't get it.
