I have a 5th birthday party to go to for a little girl.
What would be a great gift for her?
In my bag: Nikon D90; 35mm 1.8, 90mm 2.8 macro (my fave), Lensbaby Composer with macro extensions. BFP after 13 cycles and one ectopic. Lost left tube 5/19/10.
I'd pass on those unless you're sure the girl doesn't have sensitive skin. Whenever one of my DDs get something like that, it goes to the trash right away and it breaks their heart, but dealing with the eczema flares and general allergy rashes just isn't worth it.
My DD really likes her dollhouse, littlest pet shop animals, polly pockets, and art supplies (think cotton balls, glitter glue, googly eyes, buttons, fabric scraps, construction paper, etc).
DD was given a magnetic doll for her birthday and she loves it. I'm not sure where our friends got it. Camera isn't working otherwise I would upload a photo.

I was going to suggest the sticker dolly books too! I buy them in bulk on amazon for bday presents. My 5 year olds LOVE them. Every mom whose daughter has received them tell me they love them. They are made by Usborne. Learning Express in my town sells them.
I love to sit down and do them too they are so fun!
Also, accessories! gloves, purses, hats, jewelry. Journals with pens b/c they are just learning to write.
My dd just turned 5. Some things she got were a bathing suit, towel, slipping slide(outside fun). Gift certificate to Build a Bear....Loves Dolls/Carriages...
Fusion beads- both of my girls really love those (they are 4 & 6). Also craft stores have tons of crafts in a box that you can find for each age group. My younger DD just got a cool 'make your own jewelery box' kit that she thought was super cool, and my older one was jealous of it
